Following spirited discussion on both sides of the issue, a vote was called at the Energy and Natural Resources committee hearing, regarding new legislation proposed by Sen. Murkowski.
By a vote of 13 in favor and 10 opposed, the legislation passed out of the committee just after 8 a.m.

Murkowski will vote FOR the Tax Reform package if its included.
CNBC: “Murkowski, when asked on Wednesday if she backed the tax-cut plan with a mandate repeal, said she was focused on opening Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil drilling, a key goal for the Alaska lawmaker.
A committee that Murkowski chairs on Wednesday passed a bill to open ANWR to drilling, which is now expected to be attached to the tax legislation.”
Senator Murky is for it... the article didn’t explain it well enough for me.. So in other words.. our Corruptocracy continues to spend, spend, spend and purchase votes for taxpayer cash?
Opening up ANWR for drilling will provide cash to the US Treasury via lease agreements.
It will provide JOBS to the people of Alaska while boosting domestic oil production.
Alaska Ping
Why would anybody want to drill on the most god-awful forsaken place on the planet when they can just frak where the pipes don’t freeze and you’re not in a marsh 500 miles from a road surrounded by a thousand environmentalists.
I’ve worked in Deadhorse, and it is a stunning example of the American can do attitude overcoming the Americans can’t do political structure. You would get fired there for pouring water bottle on the ground because you’re polluting.
“Bringing home the Bacon” isn’t a RAT concept, it’s a “political concept!” In this instance, it’s the “Murkowski Preservation Act of 2017!” That said, it’s probably a good idea to get ANWAR out of the RATs “off-limits” category while we can.
This type of quid pro quo should be illegal.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.
Youre kidding right? Maybe you havent noticed how almost ALL legislation is passed, this is SOP since the founding of our republic. Recall the dirty dealing like cornhusker kickback to pass that wretched Obamacare for example. Business as usual. Ideally I agree with you but dealing is just the way it works, mostly people dont notice sadly.
It provides off sets against nt the costs. Actually a pretty good move and nearly impossible to change.
shut up - I know it was rhetorical
huh?

Mr. K, you've been around long enough to know that "make'n bacon and pork" in politics is standard fare.
Yeah, I know... but it shouldn’t be
It should be part of any swamp draining changes.
Along with “spend it or lose it”
How many tax dollars per job?
Even further back than that, actually
How many barrels of oil produced per job created are added to US oil production?
What a silly answer.. I expect that from salon, but I expect facts here. I asked an honest question.
