Vote on each issue on it’s merits alone, not on what they’ll give you for your vote.You’re kidding right? Maybe you haven’t noticed how almost ALL legislation is passed, this is SOP since the founding of our republic. Recall the “dirty dealing” like “ cornhusker kickback” to pass that wretched Obamacare for example. Business as usual. Ideally I agree with you but dealing is just the way it works, mostly people don’t notice sadly.
