Steve Bannon: If Roy Moore lied when denying the accusations, 'I will put him in a grave'

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said he would put Roy Moore "in a grave" if the Republican Alabama Senate candidate lied to Bannon when he denied the allegations of sexual misconduct leveled at him, according to a report.

“I will put him in a grave myself,” Bannon said, a source told the Daily Beast.

But over the past few days, Bannon has begun privately taking the temperature of those in his inner circle to see what they think of the Moore allegations and to get their sense of how to proceed, according to four knowledgeable sources. Late last week, the Breitbart chairman said, “I will put him in a grave myself,” if he determines that Moore was lying to him about the numerous accusations, a source close to Bannon relayed.

Bannon emphasized, to both friends and colleagues, that he’s uncomfortable with the charges of sexual harassment and child molestation that have been levelled at Moore. But he wasn’t convinced that the initial flood of on-record testimony, starting with the first Washington Post story last week, was anything more than a hit job. And he believes it may have been planted by #NeverTrump operatives to put the screws to Moore’s campaign.

Several of Bannon’s most trusted allies have already told him that it would be “insane,” as one put it, to believe at this point that the Moore accusations are baseless. They have also warned that the time is rapidly approaching when he would have to disavow Moore before it appeared as though he was simply caving to political pressure. (Critics of Bannon, of course, argue he should never have backed Moore in the first place.)

It is unclear if those points have completely resonated. Bannon is currently in Japan, where he went to deliver a speech. He is scheduled to fly back at the end of the week.

This doesn’t sound like Bannon at all. I’ll bet it is completely misrepresented.

The “Washington Examiner” is an anti-Moore media outlet that published a slew of anti-Moore stories during the primary runoff with Luther Strange.

Beware of what you are reading.

It’s probably not.

The “source “ of the Examiner story is unnamed from a Daily Beast story.

More crap.

Jeez, posting of a Daily Beast excerpt by a Never-Moore jihadii poster here. Yeah, that will certainly make us join McConnell’s war against the Republicans’ chosen nominee.

This is what I think:

Moore, having reached his majority (ie a respectable position) decides to find a wife and begins courting.

The age of consent in AL at the time is 16, therefore his dating 17-18 year old girls is not illegal.

The age discrepancy would not have been unusual in the generation prior to his and it would have been unusual but not shocking in his generation. Today, what w/ pizzagate et al, it raises alarm bells.

Had he taken a girl on a couple or more dates, petting, which is what he's accused of, would've been normal.

The stories have no doubt been embellished, afterall 40 years later you can say pretty much anything.

The only person accusing him of quasi-violence is the coached up Allred woman whose performance was bile inducing.

Judge Moore did himself no favors w/ his hamhanded, clubfooted self defense which only invited more sharks into the feeding frenzy.

At this point, barring some evidence of malfeasance on the part of his accusers, he's probably done which would be a terrible and far reaching strategic setback.

McConnell only looks like a turtle when in fact he's a snake and it looks like Bannon seriesly under estimated his adversary.

Roy Moore is an idiot. I have said it for months, and gotten slammed for it. He may be right on many issues, but he has terminal foot-in-mouth disease. If he were an agent for George Soros he could not be fed more self-harming dialogue than he himself has uttered. It started in August, when Moore made the asinine statements about Putin and America being “the focus of evil in the modern world,” as Reagan once called the USSR. Then, in almost every appearance since this scandal broke, he has said the most ill-considered “defenses” that only made his defense less believable. Who is his adviser? His wife? What a silly, stupid waste of energy this drama is when we need to be gearing up for the 2018 primaries.
