In the continuing Roy Moore sexual misconduct allegations controversy, there are a lot of unknowns. But we do know one thing: Mitch McConnell can't lose.
The rest of us? Not so much.
The accusations against Moore and the nature of those allegations couldn't have come at a better time for McConnell, whose top priority is and has always been consolidating his personal power in the Senate.
Politically, this works out well for McConnell because the news broke a few weeks after Moore defeated Senator Luther Strange in the Alabama special election primary. Strange was the candidate McConnell backed in the race, and the loss was a blow to his personal political fortunes.
McConnell has handled this controversy with a keen understanding of the current tenor of the country. Note that Monday, McConnell did not simply call for Moore to step aside from the race. He used the very politically correct term for responding to sexual assault allegations these days by uttering the phrase, "I believe the women, yes."
All the following likely scenarios favor McConnell.

I can't answer that. Only POTUS can.
I will say that I'm colossally unimpressed with his choices for administration personnel. His judicial picks have been universally excellent. I'll be very surprised if any of them turn out to be turds. OTOH, the administration looks like a cesspool.
You are doing the work of the GOPe. FU!
And you are doing the work of the Democrats.
By supporting Roy Moore I am supporting the Democrats? Thanks for the help real man of Genius. At least I know that the good people of Alabama can see through this smear campaign.
>>The scandal here is that Mitch McConnell concocted this smear campaign.

He wanted a better return for his initial 32 million dollar “investment”.
>>I have already proudly voted for Judge Moore
**************************************************
And we are proud of YOU. I pray Alabamans stick it to the GOPe with a Moore landslide.
>>Its hard to believe they would give up a senate seat even if they dont like Moore.

This point needs to be realized by every patriot, once and for all.
The GOPe and the Dems serve the same masters, their global elitist donor-owners.
GOPe should never be thought of as on our side, or Republicans, or patriots. They are 100% complicit with the Dems. It’s all been kabuki theatre. They are ONE.
Let’s see where we agree. We both want to see a Republican win in Ala. If that means Moore, that’s fine with me.
I see nothing in Moore’s past 35 years that causes me concern that he has any abnormal interest in children at the present time.
This is the same type of smear that they tried on Trump. Also, the Swamp hates Bama because it has conservatives who all back Trump. Hopefully Moore fights back like Trump.
