An Alabama woman is expected to disclose allegations of sexual assault against Roy Moore during a press conference today in New York.

New York Attorney Gloria Allred is holding a press conference at 1:30 p.m. CST (2:30 p.m. EST) with the new accuser, whose name hasn't been made public. The woman alleges that Moore, Alabama's Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, assaulted her when she was a minor.

"The new accuser wishes to state what she alleges Roy Moore did to her without her consent," a news release from the lawyer states.

Then the same crap would be used against everyone to the right of John McCain and Mitt Romney.

Of that, I have no doubt!.....................and probably will anyways.....................

He would be a thorn in their side and a spotlight on their shenanigans...

And if they reject him, he will become a glaring searchlight on their shenanigans. They don’t have the political capital to risk it, unless they want to convert to the D party after the vote.

Just a fun fact......Priscilla Presley was fourteen when she met Elvis at a party. They started dating and at seventeen, he was twenty-seven, they were married.

“Reminds me of the old saying, “Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime”

Similar to what the devious Cardinal Richelieu wrote:
Give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest man, and I will find something there to hang him.

They wouldn’t have pulled out Gloria Allred unless they felt they needed her. That tells me (unless Miss Allred is free-lancing) that they have given up on trying to turn the people of Alabama and are going to work exclusively on outside forces.

I don’t think the likes of Gloria Allred would do too well with Judge Chamberlain Haller.

"The difference is that even if Moore stays in and wins, the Senate Majority Leader can reject his credentials."

Think about the gross illogic of that position. If the Senate could nullify the results of elections just because the majority wants to, well there would be very little left to our democracy. This is even more the case when we are talking about unproven and denied allegations from four decades ago. Powell v. McCormack (USSC 1969) establishes that the Senate can NOT refuse to seat Roy Moore if he wins the election. The Senate could vote by 2/3 to expel him but I think it would be extremely unlikely to do so, and doing so would set an insane and anti-democratic precedent that would shatter the GOP (which might not be a bad thing...)

why not focus on the possible NJ pickup.

Because we have at most about three senators we can trust who also have something resembling a spine. Another Christine Todd Whitman or Tom Kean will not help us with the Swamp, Judge Moore will at least engage it in battle.

Where were the accusers last year, or the year before? Why right now? Because this was all planned out months ago. It is timed exactly right to make sure no one else can get on the ballot. I think it is all lies. I can’t say that I am a huge fan of Roy Moore, but I give him credit for standing up to this crap.

Menendez may be acquitted or have a hung jury, or there may be a mistrial. This is probably more likely than this jury returning a conviction. (But nobody knows.) Whatever happens, even if there is a conviction, I do not think Menendez will resign prior to January 16th. McConnell would need a 2/3 vote to expel Menendez, even if convicted, and that will never happen.

In today's sexually charged political climate, that might be easier than you think...............
