Aint that odd: based just on the transcript of his interview with Sean Hannity, John Heilemann can look at Roy Moore and say, thats a perp right there.
. . .
So surely supersleuth Heilemann must have been aware of the sexual misconduct by Mark Halperin, which led to his firing from MSNBC and loss of other engagements. After all, Heilemann worked side-by-side with Halperin for a decade, co-authoring two books and co-hosting a TV show with him, among other projects.

Why is it that John Heilemann can look at the transcript of the Sean Hannity interview and be sure that Roy Moore is a “perp,” but claim to have had no clue about the misconduct of Mark Halperin, his closest colleague with whom he’d worked for a decade?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Simple answer: Heileman is gay, and the two caroused in different venues.
I think you might be going easy on Heilemann in suggesting that he didn’t know about Halperin because they traveled in different social circles because Heilemann is gay. Having watched him for many years, I don’t sense that Heilemann, who is married to a woman, is gay.
And even if Heilemann were gay, surely over the course of a decade he would have heard rumors, etc., about Halperin’s misbehavior.
I believe Heilemann’s double standard is more likely attributable to the fact that it suits his political agenda to condemn Moore, whereas if he had admitted he knew about Halperin, he would have been criticized for having worked with him for so long.
Not to mention Bill Clinton.
Alinsky’s rules don’t apply to democrats.
Very good point. Didn’t really think of that angle.
Thanks, SoFlo!
Easy, he sees an R indicating party affiliation (strike 1), that even those in his party say he is guilty (strike 2). In other words he doesn't know for sure, but the fact that he is a conservative Republican, obviously conservative because other Republicans (GOPe) don't like him which is always a sure sign he is a bona fide conservative (strike 3), while the thought never crossed his mind that Halperin was capable of being a perv because he is a liberal through & through.
Or to state it more simply, he is biased, and his bias determined his findings. No trial or jury needed.
Good analysis!
Of course, Heileman had to know. Maybe he's next on the hit parade.
To your excellent analysis, I’d add this: if Heilemann had admitted having known about Halperin, he would have been criticized for having worked with him for so long.
Oh yeah that is a great point. 8>)
Partisan Media Shill shenanigans. Thanks governsleastgovernsbest.
What a coincidence! One look at John Heilemann and I could tell he was a pedo perp right then and there. Damn we’re good eh!
