By the time this gets to discovery, if it gets to discovery, Moore will be a Senator.
Sadly, reality probably makes ‘House of Cards’ look like an episode of ‘Little House on the Prarie’.
He has to show they are malicious in their intent of publishing something they knew was false. It needs for him to investigate in order prove this about the stories and the paper. I understand a reporter approached a woman with the offer of a good some of money to accuse Moore.
If there was a meeting, his conversation would go to the mother...who was his age.....not the 14 year old.
In other words, there was no "Hi little girl....is this your mommy". That's why I don't believe any of this. In fact, it's ridiculous.
It’s already gobe beyond he said....she said. The girl said he called her on her phone in the bedroom. The mother said she had no phone in her bedroom at the time.
If reports are true that the WAPO reporter was offering money (caught on tape) for women to dish on Roy Moore, that would be proof enough of malice on the WAPO’s part for Moore to sue them!
He won’t show his cards until it’s too late for them or it affects his internal polling
The questions asked of Moore in depositions will be beyond nasty. WaPo will have top liberal law firms and Moore’s answers will be leaked to MSM to make him look like a pervert. I do not believe it is possible for him to successfully litigate. Moore needs an honest investigative journalist, not a lawyer.
I doubt it'll get that far. Look at what happened to Palin's defamation suit against the New York Times, and she probably had the stronger case.
I have contacted and donated to the campaign since these fake stories appeared. I hope they’ll respond.

Whether McConnell and the RNC had anything at all to do with this may be in doubt, but you can bet your ass they’re happy about it. I would expect idiots like McCain, McConnell and Graham to encourage Moore to withdraw, but what’s up with Mike Lee? I haven’t heard Lee or any of the other GOP “leaders” say a word about Bob Menendez.

The lawsuit only stands a chance if there is solid evidence of WAPO trying to buy false testimony - which has been rumored in at least one case to exist.
Otherwise, I believe you are correct - that this is an unfortunately necessary dance step in the political theater.
