My Evening with the Ted Cruz Campaign
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/10/2017 4:45:59 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

One year out from Election Day 2018, the Ted Cruz re-election campaign is in high gear. Last evening, I attended an event sponsored by the Hood County Tea Party in my hometown of Granbury, Texas at which the featured speakers were senior members of Senator Cruz’s 2018 campaign.

First up was the campaign’s impressive political director, Joseph Wade Miller, a Marine veteran and former regional coordinator for Heritage Action for America. Discussing the tax reform bill, Miller explained that within the Republican caucus, the battle largely comes down to the question of whether the bill must be “revenue neutral.” Senator Cruz favors more aggressive tax cuts, which will stimulate greater economic growth and in the long run produce at least as much revenue as a more modest revenue-neutral bill.

On the political front, Miller candidly acknowledged that it might be possible for Senator Cruz to win re-election by a few points with a relatively modest effort. However, the goal is to win a resounding victory that will discourage the opposition from directing resources to Texas and dampen their aspiration of ever turning Texas blue.

Get the rest of the story here.

Revenue neutrality sounds good, but it is a trap.

Agreed.. check the details. A balanced budget is truly frightening.

Spending needs to be, “revenue neutral”.

I feel certain that Sen cRuz will win his te-election, handily. Not that it matters, but NOT with my sweat or $$ equity, this time.

Heritage Action Committee, that was headed up by virulent NeverTrumper Michael Needham, was one of the most vocal antiTrump groups out there.

Heritage Action Committee is no longer a group to tout or promote affiliation with. Nothing but swamp creatures Not Ed Fuelner’s group, anymore. :(

Priming the economy takes a bit of investment.

Tax cuts take money from the government and puts it in the hands of the people that earned it.

It was a rare occasion for me to be surrounded by fellow conservatives, instead of drowning in a sea of liberal media! ;-)

I wish someone would primary him. Paxon perhaps? I know he’s in a job now, but we need to do everything we can to get rid of Cruz.

I am annoyed that we haven’t reduced our debt. 20 trillion but the President is giving his salary to charity instead of towards the debt. Plus the State Department has 1/3 of the positions empty. Where is that money? Why not give it to the debt? We could be down to 19 trillion by now if all the money we “save” could go to the debt instead of to charity or some other stupid place. Our priority needs to be to pay down the debt to about 1 trillion. I heard paying it off would cause a world wide depression.....have no idea why but it is what it is.

Because Cruz is a traitor to the country. He is too liberal for Texas as well.

“Cruz is a traitor to the country. He is too liberal for Texas as well.”

Cruz has a lifetime 100% rating from the American Conservative Union.

He’s too liberal, and indeed, a “traitor?” That strikes me as some very extreme talk.

It’s not extreme, it’s crazy or dumb. But then that pretty well describes the Cruz haters on FR.

We are 116 days out from the Texas Primary on March 6, 2018.
Any candidate to oppose Cruz with a real chance to win would
have been on the radar long before now.

Look, Cruz wanted to raise H1-B visa numbers to 500% of what they were.

He voted for the Corker bill.

He voted for TPP, or the TPA bill.

He refused to work hard to get the best presidential candidate in over a generation elected.

What’s wrong with you?

You just can’t find true Conservatives like that anymore.

LOL
