White House aide Kellyanne Conway said Thursday that allegations against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore made in the Washington Post would be disqualifying for anyone in public office.
We need to listen to both sides, but at the same time, that hypothetical would be disqualifying for anyone in public office, Conway said, in a clip aired on MSNBC.
The Post reported the stories of four women who said Moore pursued relationships with them as a grown man when they were teenagers. In one case, a 32-year-old Moore took then-14-year-old Leigh Corfman to his house, undressing her before initiating sexual contact.
She remembers that Moore kissed her, that he took off her pants and shirt, and that he touched her through her bra and underpants. She says that he guided her hand to his underwear and that she yanked her hand back, the Post reported.
The White Houses director of legislative affairs, Marc Short, said on CNN later Thursday that theres no path forward for Moore if the Posts reporting is accurate.
Thats a big If clause, Wolf, it certainly is, but yes, he told CNNs Wolf Blitzer.
But, pressed on how Alabama voters should determine the veracity of the allegations which the Post reported after interviews with more than 30 sources Short had few specific ideas.
I think that the voters of Alabama deserve to know the truth and I think the voters of Alabama will demand more information, more facts to figure this out, he said.
Some GOP leaders have called on Moore to drop out of the race to fill Attorney General Jeff Sessions former Senate seat still, other Alabama officials have dismissed the Posts reporting and defended Moore.
No help from the RINOs and team Trump who didn’t want Moore anyway.
Allegations are made and nowhere do I see anyone giving the presumption of innocence to Moore.
That word only applies when a RINO or a democrat is attacked.
I guess all anyone has to do anymore is accuse and that means the accused is automatically guilty and ruined.
Get the f*ck outta here, you f*cking troll.
Trump needs to recall that Dems did this to him, too, with help from the same GOPe that are calling for Moore to drop out. He knows the technique well; he needs to denounce it.
Smart thing to do is for AL to go ahead and elect him then after a year or so if the allegations are true, Moore can resign and another GOP can be appointed by the Gov. It’s too late to change the ballot.
My guess is that there will be a big push to get voters to write in Luther Strange.
Or during one of his elections for judge.
Or during the primary campaign.
Nope, comes out now?
Sorry, not buying it.
This has McConnell and the SWAMP smell to it.
Remember Mississippi!
If. If. If.
That's a big if... it smells like baseless suspiciously-timed accusations spearheaded by the fake-news Washington comPost. Just like they did with Trump.
Why not when Moore was being thrown off the AL Supreme Court bench? Why not when he ran against Strange? This is the last chance to stop him, and the globalists will try by any means necessary.
Just check their checking accounts or recent purchases
this woman was paid $56,000 for this story.
prove me wrong
Moore denies it cocompletely and his reasons make sense
if elected the Senate can refuse to seat him. Then I suppose there would be a special election where another republican like Luther or Brooks would be elected.
Besides... they are trying to ruin someone from Alabama,,,,, by saying they slept with a 14 year old?
They better think that one ALL the way through.
“And in fact no one from the GOP has (or will) step up to defend Moore.
Hes a gonner.”
It depends.
Are there any contemporaneous witnesses that have come forward? Anyone who says they saw him in the company of one of these young girls?
Supposedly he had permission from some of the moms to “date their young daughter...have any of these moms come forward?
If any of that is true, then yes, he’s a gonner.
Absent that, he’ll be elected.
It was bound to come out. Probably why Trump didn’t endorse him. When is the election?
Where were you -—
I was working for slave wages in my uncle’s convenience store.
