GOP Senator John McCain has done this country and the people innumerable services for which we unreservedly thank him. But the Arizona lawmakers anti-Trump stance and vocal opposition to the Presidents practically every legislative proposal could jeopardize his reputation among the masses.
We could perhaps forgive him for his unreserved efforts toward killing Mr. Trumps long-planned and promised replacement of Obamacare, but thats where the people draw the line.
With Mr. Trump diligently working toward getting his tax reform passed, it may turn out that McCain could again play a decisive role in the bills future.
As Zero Hedge has reported, the tax reform is basically dead now that McCain, the third Republican so far, has announced his opposition to it.
The outlet goes on to say: Whats worse for the Trump administration, McCain reportedly wants the bill to receive input from both parties a criticism that he cited as his reason for voting against the Trump administrations plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. This is particularly problematic because theres approximately zero chance that any Democratic lawmakers will break ranks to vote with Republicans, despite President Donald Trump repeatedly saying that he expects to win over Democrats.
The Arizona Republican has reportedly said that the current legislation is DOA in an interview with Fox Business Charlie Gasparino.
"In recent weeks, John McCain has reiterated his demand that Republicans pass their tax plan through a bipartisan process that honors the norms of regular order. McCain voted down his partys Obamacare repeal bill precisely because it failed to meet this standard. And it will be impossible to pass the House plan or anything close to it through any but a rushed, secretive, partisan process", ZeroHedge adds.
Susan Collins said on Monday that she will not vote for the repeal of taxes on multi-million dollar estates, which the current legislation includes.
Bob Corker has also said that he would not back any tax measure that would further increase the debt, even in the first decade, where Congress would be allowed to do so. In its present form, the House plan would raise the deficit by about $1.5 trillion in the next ten years.
It is also uncertain whether the tax reform would pass the House in its current status. GOP legislators from Democratic states slammed Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady regarding additions in the legislation to revoke deductions to $500,000. Deductions for student-loan interests would also be terminated.
Just another 'control freak' rejected by the electorate- who can't get over rejection.
We should demand a psych evaluation !
From the guy whos wife is worth over $100M.
You think he gives a s*** whether tax reform happens?
Total hack.
too bad he won’t be DOA by then.
Not really
Too bad McShame isn’t......
Since I can’t watch my Colts, now I’m a brain cancer fan.
The Senate will be a much better place when this mean, perpetually cranky old junkyard dog is no longer there.
Yes, and while I am not a veteran, someone on one of those Frank Lutz 2016 election goat rodeos he did on Fox said amongst the Veteran Community that she knew the Vets said the same thing then Candidate Trump was saying.
Ouch, I had no idea...
With that said and it will never happen, never mind an investigation into x, y, or z scandal at the Federal level.
I want to know why ( yes Nepotism and his family name ) a guy who washout 2 airplanes, and was on the deck and in the cockpit on the Forestall when the accident occurred, still was allowed in the cockpit when you and I would have driving a desk at a logistics depot somewhere inland in fly-over country....
Had they pulled him from flight status after anyone of those two birds he ended up destroying by his piloting or one the deck of the career, he'd never would have been over Hanoi.....

...
That’s what McCain says, but the real reason is he hates Trump and the great Americans who elected Trump.
The 7-11 store in Tempe will sell out of 6 packs...
I hope he enjoys the spectacle of a several-thousand point drop in the Dow, which will inflict pain and suffering on millions of Americans and their retirement accounts.
The market will drop like a rock if this doesn’t go through.
What’s his problem?!
Drop dead John McCain. Sooner the better.
Mitch McConnell said the same thing in Jan. or Feb. this year.
Well, McCain has sided with dems on anything to do with Trump so that is a given *but* we also have to figure a way to get Rand Paul back on the Senate floor. He’s been put on injured reserve by his socialist democrat neighbor.
McStain needs to resign and go to a long term care facility
he’s a bum ping
