At the state dinner Japans Prime Minister Shinzo Abe gave the visiting President Trump Monday night, White House communications director Hope Hicks ditched her usual dress for a tuxedo and bow tie.
Twitter users had some thoughts on Hicks suave style.
It was a sharp, very au courant look for the 29-year-old fashion plate, who generally favors feminine floral frocks

Be that as it may, but that's no male!
If she’s a tranny.... well then my opinions have just changed.
Garbo did this in the early 30’s.
Everything old is new again.
NOT a tranny. She looks great in that outfit.
She looks like the butler I had when I was staying at a high end hotel in Buenos Aires.
Just picture for a moment getting out of the shower and someone as beautiful as her holding your towel for you. Then telling you your coffee is ready and your clothes for the day have been laid out on the bed.
Slightly off topic, but my son, who is a senior aerospace engineering student at a small college just had a formal dinner as part of his schooling. The school brings in a etiquette instructor who teaches the students how to act in a formal business setting that includes a meal, which forks to use etc.
The school impressed us from the moment we heard of it and this is sort of icing on the cake.
I know I was trying to say how good she looked with humor.
oh okay! How any body would think she looks manly is crazy.
I recall in the past Japanese women being gaga for American fashion.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Japanese women in tuxes soon.
“Arent women supposed to know more about fashion then men?”
What I learned, and therefore teach, is that men’s dressing isn’t fashion.
A suit is a sign that you respect another persons time and the efforts they went through to get there.
Tuxedos are a language all their own. Tuxedos can even be worn with slippers (Yup. In public. And it’s a message. Mostly the host of a party (Originated from Tuxedo Park which apparently was full of a bunch of Jay Gatsbys) would wear them, but a guest could as well. It was rude, but it was still in the rule book)
And a cummerbund is a dandy pistol concealment. Just putting that out there.
“A silk pussybow”
Is that a pussybow ? I had to look it up, and I found that the pussybow is what I’ve come to accept - a woman-only long bow like a gift. And a google search of it turns up a Huffpo article losing their mind and giggling about Melania Trump wearing one to a debate.
sheesh I hate libs. But anyway, if this is considered a pussybow I’ll take it. But if I call that sloppy bow-tie knot a pussybow at my tailor I don’t want him to laugh at me :)
Re #74:
