The Trump administration is trying to strip citizenship away from four Somalis who allegedly lied in the process of using the Diversity Visa Program.
“For decades, the American people have begged and pleaded with their government for a lawful system of immigration that serves the national interest—a system that has as its foremost priorities their safety, their jobs, and their well-being,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement Monday. “The current immigration system is easily abused by fraudsters and nefarious actors, and that’s certainly true of the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.”
The Diversity Visa Program has come under criticism after a beneficiary of the lottery allegedly attacking bicyclists in New York City last week.
“I am calling on Congress to TERMINATE the diversity visa lottery program that presents significant vulnerabilities to our national security,” President Donald Trump tweeted last week.
The four Somali nationals all came to the U.S in 2001 and allegedly falsely claimed that they were related. They have all since received American citizenship and now live in Minnesota.
“I previously taught civics classes, and saw firsthand how hard people work to come to the United States legally and honestly,” Homeland Security Acting Secretary Elaine Duke said in a statement. “It is out of respect for those people that we cannot tolerate fraud, deception, and abuse of our legal immigration system. Fraudulently obtained citizenship is an affront to our American values, the rule of law, and all those who honestly attained their immigration status.”
And some still call us every filthy name in the book for asking such things..

Diversity is great if you don't have to live with it.
It is fun if you are going to go eat some "exotic" food or watch people wearing "quaint" clothes, or hear some "colorful" music. Then you drive back to your guarded, gated community where everyone looks and sounds exactly like you.
But it is not so fun when you have them living in the apartment next to you.
Just to nitpick a detail, but absolutely not your greater point - I do not believe there were any Marines killed in Mogadishu and dragged through the streets. IIRC, there was a mis-identification at some point of one of the soldiers...
But overall, yes...I agree with the tone of your post.
(BTW, I don’t have a problem with a person immigrating to the US from a 3rd world country, what I have a major problem with is the overwhelming preference and priority given to not only 3rd world immigrants, but specifically 3rd world immigrants from countries whose populations hate the USA and who have no interest in assimilation and becoming American)
Even worse, is the accompanying DELIBERATE rejection of immigrants from countries who not only DO have an interest in assimilating and becoming Americans, but have marketable skills which can make them a contributing taxpaying citizen, and this is done on the basis of skin pigmentation, culture, religion, or simply the fact they wish to emigrate from a developed country that is NOT part of sub-Saharan Africa.
It is infuriating.
Legal immigration is great as long as you don’t have to compete with them for jobs.
I don’t necessarily have a problem with legal immigration.
It is unlimited, twisted legal immigration I have now that is problematic.
In a normal immigration environment, we would not be flooded with them to a point where the competition for jobs is problematic (as I agree with you it is now)
But this is not, and has not been for decades, a “normal” immigration environment.
Don’t stop with the Somalis. Make it ALL who have scammed us.

I know how to get the program to work— just ensure no one who’s birthday is 1 January can immigrate. Most Somalis have no record of birth, so the nice SJWs assign them Jan 1st of the latest year that is remotely believable so as to ensure their “child” refugee status and prolong the benefits. It’s SOP in the field (to include all the nice DACA “children”).
The sad thing is that such actions only institute the entitlement mentality. In contrast, many “regular” African immigrants are better Americans than many natives. They are predominantly Christian, and only those with drive have the perseverance needed to make the cut. It’s funny how such “mean-spirited” limitations drive excellence.
