If I'm right that is the equivalent to a Felony. That means he CAN"T legally own a firearm!

Thats right...one of the questions on the ATF form when you try and buy a gun. Disqualifier...prohibited person.

Yes, dishonorable discharge prohibits one from legally possessing a firearm.

If he committed a felony, it would disqualify him from owning a firearm. Bergdahl got a DD but didn’t commit a felony against the US.
