At least 16 people have been shot inside a Texas church after a gunman opened fire during the Sunday morning service.
The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where around 50 people usually attend service, according to local reports.
Witnesses said a man 'in full gear' walked inside the church and opened fire just before 10.30am.
Neighbors in the area said they may have heard the shooter reload multiple times.
Another witness at the scene said a two-year-old was also shot in the attack.
According to KSAT, there were at least six helicopters called in to transport victims to the hospital.
It's unclear if anyone was fatally wounded in the attack.

Exactly what i do. In a holster it prints like an iPhone. Police recommended special bullet so this little ruger has great knock down. I carry everywhere except stadiums
Texas Shooter Devin Patrick Kelly is a 29 year old U.S. Marine turned Muslim convert.
He changed his name to Samir Al-Hajeed.
I now heard Devon Patrick Kelley according to ABC per MSNBC.
“We have a very large contingent of concealed carriers at our church each Sunday, as well as a uniformed off duty policeman on campus. Thank God our elders are conservative and smart and allow and even promote this. Its insanity not to these days.”
At one church I attended, the Pastor made it a point to pull his gun from concealed location on his body and put it on the first shelf in the pulpit.
I liked it... Some, including a deputy sheriff, didn’t like it. Too bad.
Yeah I saw a screenshot of some creeping looking white dude with an AR-15 as his cover photo...
I agree, though it's the same as it ever was and unlikely to change. It would be the decent thing to do, when it's obvious that erroneous identifying information has been posted about someone who is NOT the perp, that info should be deleted. But that's probably not going to happen either.
Check the person who said it wasnt terrorism for a lobotomy scar.
Another Clintonic Coincidence!
Wasn’t there an attack in a church two or three years ago and the pastor used his gun to end it? Seems vaguely familiar.
Why don’t people take the responsibility to carry.... almost everywhere. Practice and develop muscle memory and don’t just carry a mouse gun. Two or three armed citizens could have taken this guy out.
I would never attend such a church. Sound like idiots.
I was wondering how long it would be before they did this. It’s terrible, but I’ve told people here for years to be careful. Easter, Christmas etc, churches are packed, it’s a target rich environment.
Well, it looks like CBS, and I’m sure they’re right this time, they earlier reported “Cris Ward” was the shooter, is now reporting the shooter’s name is actually Devin Patrick Kelley.
He also posted in a comment that he was indicted? Didn’t say for what...2/15/11 post. Mentions indictment (misspelled) in comments...
Ok. This is crazy. Is that really the same name that was a hoax after Vegas?Devin Patrick Kelley? Is that a hoax name reported by all nets?
Good evening.
“Although these days, that appears merely an aspiration.”
You may know that I post with my real name.
I have posted this before...
Many churches in the St. Petersburg diocese have people who are armed. Parishioners who have CCW, LEOs and others.
The diocese will not condon bringing firearms into the church.
But the Bishop will not know anything about it...

Disregard my last post. Holy crap.
That’s quite disturbing.
Yep guess that web site was on to something, same name, but the picture might NOT be him..also he’s supposedly ex military
Another interesting point.
The new name of the shooter, Samir Al-Hajeed, was a name that came up in Las Vegas as a possible second shooter.
Check this out from CBS on October 3, 2017
“Several Twitter users falsely identified a man named Samir Al-Hajeed as the gunman wanted in connection with the mass shooting. “
CBS called it a hoax.
