At least 16 people have been shot inside a Texas church after a gunman opened fire during the Sunday morning service.
The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where around 50 people usually attend service, according to local reports.
Witnesses said a man 'in full gear' walked inside the church and opened fire just before 10.30am.
Neighbors in the area said they may have heard the shooter reload multiple times.
Another witness at the scene said a two-year-old was also shot in the attack.
According to KSAT, there were at least six helicopters called in to transport victims to the hospital.
It's unclear if anyone was fatally wounded in the attack.

Thanks, FRiend. That sounds like the incident.
But only one from Sutherland Springs. Again, NOT saying this is the guy. But this name is being reported by multiple sources.

It’s him. This is his wife’s review of the church on their face book page.

My children attend with my in laws and absolutely love it there. They feel loved, welcome and always come home smiling and sharing what they learned that day.
“I carry everywhere.” Me too.
Anyone worried about offending or printing, there’s no excuse for not having a little Ruger LCPII in your pocket and spare mags in an ankle holster, so you can at least go down fighting. It’s a backup `mouse gun’ but better than nothing.
If I can’t carry, I’m not there.
Prayers for the victims and their families.
We have six to twelve of us at any given service that carry concealed. We have discussed with the pastor starting a security team as several of us have specific training that we could bring to the team. His response was that our insurance was cost prohibitive to have an organized security team. Therefore, we train and carry privately with his nod of approval... unofficially, so our insurance is affordable. I carried this morning as I taught kids in Sunday School, directed the choir and sang two specials in a trio. Nobody is keeping anyone from starting a private group of sheep dogs helping protect the flock.
Exactly. I pray that most churches are handling the danger the same way.

“A two-year-old is among the victims of a mass shooting in Texas, with at least 27 people dead and 30 more injured.”
Or the copy cat killers with no future see all the attention these acts of evil get by endless social media coverage.
That’s Arthel Neville. Dopey uninformed MSM lib. I’ve never been to a Catholic church, either, but I know that their service is called “Mass”. She’s just stupid.
We have a “weaons expert” in our group that makes a living teaching self defense, martial arts and he recently sold his gun shop and indoor shooting range. When he is there, our number of weapons in the service doubles! He has at least half a dozen concealed. Huge 6’6” man wearing a loose suit can carry an armory!
Occupation?
Better to discreetly carry (do not “Print”), keeping the knowledge to your self, and have it when you need it, than to become an unarmed victim. The bad guy with the gun or with evil intent will no be following the laws of your community or state. An armed society is a more polite society. Americans should not need anyone’s permission to protect their lives.
On 21 September 2011, he posted they were getting married on 5 November. But, elsewhere in the profile, it lists their marriage on 27 April 2012.
WHERE WERE THE TEXAS CARRIERS ? ? ?
Sometimes that would save the day, other times not. Depends on who sees who first and what he was armed with. Don’t know what weapon he had, but if he had an AK or AR with a drum, that would be hard to stop.
Imagine you are halfway through the service and suddenly from behind a storm of aimed rifle fire goes straight into the crowd as fast as someone can pull the trigger. There is an absolute crush of people falling, screaming and trying to flee. The bad guy had tactical gear, possibly a plate carrier. All of that and you are taken totally from ambush... you would have a hard time regaining the initiative.
There are things that would help, like an usher at the door. Armed if possible, but even if not, him being shot first might give you that precious 3 seconds of warning. Lots of churches designate ccw’s as security and they position themselves accordingly.
But just random people in the pews caught off guard, would have a very hard time getting into action fast enough to deal with that.
That’s not in _any way_a knock on ccw at church - none whatsoever-. You can and should carry and it helps a LOT in some scenarios.
But though we all think it cant be true. But you could have had 50 navy seals packed in a classroom, on a navy base with glocks... and it wouldn’t have unfolded THAT much differently if someone steps in the backdoor and surprises them with a blast into the crowd with enough well-aimed firepower.
I like ccw, and i love our ARs and Aks. But sometimes, its just not your day. I wouldn’t be too hard on those people about not winning that ambush.

“I live a couple of miles from there as the crow flies.”
Is it a white church?
