America’s biggest problem right now is that “We’ve got people in charge of important shit who don’t believe in science.”

Well, at least it is if you believe that world-renowned expert Harrison Ford.

Ford was speaking at an environmental awards ceremony in Culver City, California, where he was fêted for his work as executive vice chair of Conservation International.

According to Hollywood Reporter:

“We face an unprecedented moment in this country. Today’s greatest threat is not climate change, not pollution, not flood or fire,” Ford said during his acceptance speech of the Founders’ Award. “It’s that we’ve got people in charge of important shit who don’t believe in science.”

He went on to criticize those politicians who let “political or economic self-interest denigrate or belittle sound scientific understanding of the causes and effects of human pressure on the environment.”

Yeah, right. The problem with this speech is that every word is tosh, including all the “ands” and “buts.”

How many “carbon credits” would they earn if Hollywood stops making movies (and television shows)?

Out source them and let the Chinese create our entertainment. At lease they would be honest with their communist propaganda.

What qualifies H.Ford to expound on science issues anyway, being a philosophy grad from an obscure backwater college? It’s galling how fame clouds everyone’s ability to properly categorize expertise, or the lack thereof.

I wonder where the great scientific genius Harrison Ford stands on the very controversial question:

Does XX equal XY?

(These lunatics self-proclaim as experts in science. They have no idea what the word even means.)

As always the simple question is this, IF there is such a thing as Manmade Globull Warming, how is Man going to stop and reverse it?

Root cause: Human Activity.

Solution: Stop Human Activity.

Method: (fill in the blank)

Yes we need to be lectured to by morally superior Hollywood types.
Mr Ford go back and fix your decades long Weinstein issue then get back to us

Harrison Ford has always been my ideal of the ultimate “scientist.”

Al Gore of course a close second.

I think they undermine their points if they resort to curse words or name calling.

You are of course absolutely correct. Profanity and labels are very detrimental to the credibility of those using them to any reasonable outside observer. The primary people active on this forum who have called me names are those who are super devoted to the Apple Corporation.

I actually use some current Apple products but I do not accept the mythological reality that some have constructed surrounding the company and their products. So they frequently label me a “hater”, which seems very similar to the label “denier” used by members of the global warming “religion”.

I just thank them for using the label and tell them I am used to it. They do not understand that calling me a “hater” undermines whatever credibility that they might have had. It indicates a “religious” like zeal in something that is not recognized as a religion. This phenomena has actually been studied when it comes to people who worship certain brands.

Well...my son met him while working as a mechanic. Said he was super nice to everyone. So, I’ll give him a pass. I don’t expect political good sense from folks in Hollywood. I’ll settle for “nice to mechanics”...

Oh, I agree, way too many people ignore science nowadays! Science is very clear that biologically there are two sexes, and that sex is determined by DNA. Therefore, there are no such things as transgenders, agenders, or any of the other flavors of genders (outside of the very rare genetically damaged individuals, who are nothing more than genetic mistakes). Right, Harrison?

"Ford said during his acceptance speech of the Founders’ Award. “It’s that we’ve got people in charge of important shit who don’t believe in science.”"

And we've got an imbecile flying, and crashing airplanes, and putting the lives of other people in peril. I see Harrison Ford as a bigger threat to mankind than climate change.
