With statewide elections on Tuesday in Virginia and New Jersey, the PBS NewsHour week-in-review segment strangely focused on Democrats for a change. Liberal analyst Mark Shields shocked PBS anchor Judy Woodruff by saying if Virginia’s Democratic candidate for governor, Ralph Northam, can’t defeat Republican Ed Gillespie with his alleged Trump baggage, there will be hell to pay:
MARK SHIELDS: I would say this, Judy. If, in fact, the Democrats lose on Tuesday in Virginia, that it will lead to — close to civil war within the Democratic Party.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Whoa.
SHIELDS: It will be — there will be reprisals between the Bernie — that Northam has run a very conventional, sort of cautious campaign, and that will be — and Bernie Sanders — Tom Perriello, the — his primary opponent on the other side, there will be questions that he had — the Democratic Party really didn’t stand — and 2016 all over again.

Whether or not they have a “civil war” depends on whether or not Team Clinton has the resources to fight back, and especially if HRC is willing to give up Obama.
My gut says, no, they don’t have the troops and no, they won’t turn on Obama.

She’s a stubborn, NASTY woman. I suspect she will: 1) have to assume room temperature or 2) it will be a real RAT fight. I am OK with either option although 2 would be highly entertaining and prolonged.

No, really. I saw a pic of her yesterday behind a lectern and thought it must be an outtake from one of Tyler Perry’s “Medea” movies. If her hair was just a little longer. Then again, there may be some sheltered FReepers that don’t know what we’re talking about. ;-) Mrs. rktman thought it was funny when I said it. Or just trying to make me feel good.
That last quote by Shields is incoherent and incomprehensible. I guess he’s still hitting the sauce pretty hard.....
