I hear a lot of talk about staying home instead of voting for the Establishment RINO candidate Ed Gillespie in Virginia. The reason that is often times given for staying home is that there is no difference between the two, so why vote at all. So they use the same reasoning that was used in 1992 when many Republicans refused to the pull the lever that would have re-elected George H Bush.
Oh I remember those days well, because I was trying to convince people to not vote for the hand-grenade with a bad haircut. Many die hard conservatives at the time just repeated the same line, over, and over, again. George lied, when he said read my lips. He screwed us, and we are tired of politicians taking us for granted. Many even said that maybe a couple years with a Democrat president people will remember why we voted for Reagan instead of Bush in the 1980 Primary. In four years we can then pick a conservative and replace the guy as they did when Carter was President.
Well we sure did learn our lesson didn't we? Yup, but the only problem is you never know what a person will do while they have the power you want to deny the RINO.
Need I really go through the list of pains we have had to endure because some people would rather see a city, state, or the country feel your anger? Looking back at the election of 1992, I can think of many things that would be different if people just held their nose and voted for Bush. Like the Twin Towers would still be standing, China would still be firing rockets into the dirt, would still have control of all our uranium, and many of my friends would still have sons and daughters living. There are many more, but those should suffice.
Yea, imagine if we took that spirit and fought like our future depended on it to get the right candidate elected in the primary instead of bitching that our candidate lost, so we'll jut stay home and let the Democrat win.
Mind you, there are numerous reasons you should never ever allow a Democrat Politician any where near a position of power. Especially if your vote can make the difference between who will have the authority to appoint the person who will become a US Senator when Senator Bob Menendez is convicted. Mind you, this Senator will have a vote on who Donald Trump appoints to the Supreme Court should there be an opening.
Look, no one knows what the future my bring, but I do know that if GH Bush won in 1992, Bill Clinton would probably be living in Arkansas with an ex-wife making his life a living hell as she complains about her alimony checks, instead of screwing up the country. Imagine if Bill and Hillary never would have made it to the white House. See, it does matter who wins between a RINO and a Democrat.
Here we go again down the same rabbit hole but this time the subjects arent under the influence of shrooms they truly believe elections are binary choices. Every year its a flip flop like a fish in land. If you dont vote the RUNO a world ending event will occur the likes we have never seen!!! It reminds me of mentally challenged adults who go door to door bellowing that the rapture is near.
This is what happens when you trade in your conservative principles and show the world, well you dont stand on principles. If the establishment can roll out their soup du jour well golly gee Im gonna have to vote for him to prevent the next world ending event! Its circular logic in its finest.
NO MORE RINOS PERIOD
# 41, I dont work from circular logic
Umm, where did I day vote for the establishment in the primary?
I said vote for the one that wins the primary.
You must have a problem with reading comprehension.
We have three political factions the globalist, socialists and nationalists all competing for control of two parties. It's nasty.
Yep. But primary the back stabbers out. It actually works.
Exactly. You either help us elect a true conservative, then support the nominee in the general, or you are just a constant complainer.
Imagine if we took the anger of a true conservative losing in the primary, and instead redirected it to fighting like its the general election to get the conservative to win the primary?
Don’t these people realize that that less than 30% of the eligible voters vote in the primary? If we just got those conservatives who do not vote in the primary to vote as they do in the general election, the conservatives would win every primary election. Then we would have a true conservative running against the Democrat in the general election.
Wow, you and I agree on something. You being a Free Traitor I am surprised you aren’t a big Gellispe fan.
I agree, take the fight to the primary, do nt sit at home during the general just because your candidate di not win the primary.
Did you read what I wrote?
The GOPe never return the favor and support the non GOPE candidate in the general. Look at the last election. The never Trumper Establishment stayed home and it took blue collar people in the upper mid west to carry the day.. It is NEVER a two way street.
You are a stupid party hack. That’s what I read.
Exactly. Use the Primary to replace the RINOS, not the general election
You knock off RINOs any way you can.
Amen. I won’t vote for someone who doesn’t represent my interests, I don’t give a damn what Party they’re in.
So what. Next time work harder.
Tell me, why is it only 30% vote in the primary?
We are obviously not doing a good enough job of getting all the conservatives out to vote, ow we would replace the Rinos with the conservatives.
But to stay home in the general is the same thing the never Trumpers did. By the way, there were millions of true die hard conservatives never Trumpers whwo stayed home and now realize we were right about Trump.
By the way, I was a staunch Ted Cruz guy, but I still went with Trump in the general and I am a true believer in him now.
As I said, you do nit know me or you would nit have written that
“I can think of many things that would be different if people just held their nose and voted for Bush [41]. Like the Twin Towers would still be standing...”
Huh?
I don’t know if people would like me for saying this but I would have a real tough time voting for McCain or Collins. I would also have a tough time voting for someone who may very well broke the law or took a kick back. Just saying.
You don’t work from practical outcomes. Your approach, if it succeeds, will give us more Kagans and Sotomayors. That is what the new ‘true conservatism,’ considers a ‘victory.’
