HOUSTON -- The World Series champion Houston Astros have not made the decision yet on whether they will visit the White House to meet with President Donald Trump if an invitation is extended.
"We just won the first world championship in Houston Astros history," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said shortly before the team left for a celebratory parade through downtown Houston on Friday. "We're also in one of the most divided countries, polarizing countries in politics. I don't know that this is the best stage for everybody to declare one way or the other and try to comment on the moment and be too much of a political statement."

He just made his statement...
It’s time to cut out honoring sports teams at the WHITE HOUSE.
Good grief. If he extends invitation and they refuse, then I am off the bandwagon.
No offense to any of the players from those teams that get invited, but I think the President has better things to do.
I would end this tradition.
Who agrees?
NO! It’s good for the country. Sports is part of our culture and identity.
No! It’s good to have some fun, some tradition and leisure.
Sport is part of entertainment.
Hinch and the Astros can take a hike, he’s a jerk making this statement.
As long as sports leagues remove NATIONAL and AMERICAN from their undustry names.
Obviously the media is at war with the people of this country. Shove it.
No one asked so why bring it up
What kind of stupid thing is that to say?! I sure hope president Trump doesnt invite that prick!
So what part of that statement is not political, A. J. Hinch (you jerk)?
Screw ‘em, no invitation should be extended. Oh, and remove the name “AMERICAN” League from MLB. While they’re at it, they can change the name of the “National” League, too!
Scroom.
I wouldn’t invite them to wash the press conference porta-potties.
Obama polarized. He gave these liberals the ability to act out. If MLB doesn’t want to suffer as the NFL has been, tell us you hate the president but loved Obama.
They should all break their legs and finish their careers on a skateboard in single A.
Obama was the most polarizing president in my lifetime, and visiting the White House was never questioned during his administration.
Take knee you POS. Try it. We'll ditch MLB faster than you can say can't we all just get along?
“Oh, and remove the name AMERICAN League from MLB. While theyre at it, they can change the name of the National League, too!”
The Black Lives Matter League and the Social Justice League.
