Trump: Many people are disappointed in the Justice Department, 'including me'
The Hill ^ | 11/3/17 | Avery Anapol

President Trump doubled down on his call for the Justice Department to investigate Democrats on Friday after a former Democratic National Committee chair acknowledged the party tipped the scales in Hilary Clinton's favor during last year's primary.

Trump told reporters outside the White House that he is “disappointed” in the Justice Department for not investigating Clinton, reiterating that he believes the agency should do something.

“I’m really not involved with the Justice Department. I’d like to let it run itself, but honestly, they should be looking at the Democrats," he said.

“They should be looking at Podesta and all of that dishonesty, they should be looking at a lot of things, and a lot of people are disappointed in the Justice Department, including me,” he said.

In an excerpt of her new book, former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile wrote about a deal between Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the DNC aimed at keeping the party financially viable.

The deal wasn't illegal, Brazile wrote, but it "sure looked unethical." The former DNC chair said it “broke [her] heart” to find “proof” that the primary between Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) was rigged.

Trump has tweeted several times about the Democratic deal since an excerpt of Brazile’s book was published by Politico on Thursday, calling it “illegal” and bringing back his nickname for Clinton, “Crooked Hillary.”

“You have multiple, supposedly conservative, senators that are keeping Sessions there”

That is ..until....

What?

Self preservation rules in DC.

Carter Page, Sam Clovis, JD Gordon, Papadapolous may take him down..if not an actual charge there could be such pressure over testimony that Congress may be willing to let him go

That said, surely Sessions knows where bodies are buried in Congress

Well said.

Some people here are re-fighting the last war. President Trump is fighting the next war, and A.G. Sessions is playing the role which the President has assigned him.

As you say, the core of it is USA vs. Globalism.

I would add, that is “atheist-communist-nihilist globalism.”

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is “frustrated” he can’t order around the Justice Department.

“But you know the saddest thing, because I’m the President of the United States I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department. I am not supposed to be involved with the FBI,” Trump told WMAL host Larry O’Connor. “I’m not supposed to be doing the kinds of things I would love to be doing and I’m very frustrated by it.”

“Why aren’t they going after Hillary Clinton with her emails and with the dossier, and the kind of money?” Trump added. “Now, maybe they are, but as president, and I think you understand this, as a president you are not supposed to be involved in that process.”

From your link. Sessions is required to issue a statement of recusal on this issue. Where is it? He issued a recusal on Russian campaign collusion, but nothing on this.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said others in the room do not remember Sessions saying anything like that and that the subject was “discussed.” She would not comment on whether Sessions has recused himself.

“I’ve talked to people who were in the room and they don’t remember him saying anything like this. The subject was discussed so maybe someone misconstrued what he said. I can’t comment on recusal issues though because to do so would confirm or deny the existence of an investigation,” she said in a statement to Breitbart News.

I think it's all a staged act (Trump's "outrage" over DOJ)

Sessions has publicly recused himself. He's done multiple recusals.

Trump has publicly stated that he thinks that the AG isn't doing enough.

Congress has warned and threatened Trump not to dismiss Sessions.

Circumstantial evidence points to Rosenstein and Mueller needing to be investigated for the Uranium One deal coverup.

Enough please with "this is all a staged act".

Please provide the required official DOJ statements of multiple recusals by Sessions. I can only find one.

I don’t really care about the announcement of another investigation, which will result in nothing. I would prefer to hear Sessions announce indictments and arrests. So I am OK with the silence.

There is no "silence".

I'm sorry but this is getting ridicules. Sessions has publicly stated in his own words that he has recused himself from all matters Hillary. What part of that do you not understand.

Trump in his own words is saying that the FBI and the DOJ are not investigating. He is basically pleading with us to make noise so that they can do their job, or maybe so that he could fire people.

The thought occurred to me that even if he did take this action:

1) How would he know if the corrupt intelligence agencies even gave him all the documents, unredacted/unaltered, and

2) What would he do if they simply refused to comply, just like they do when they outright refuse to show up to Congressional hearings when they have been officially subpoenaed?

Maybe he is waiting until after the midterm elections to do a whole scale Dept clean out, including lots of firings.

Sessions said to Grassley that there had already been convictions in the Uranium One bribe scandal.

Rossenstein gave plea bargains to a couple schlubs back in 2015. That was after six long years of FBI investigation. That's it!

Rosenstein and Mueller need to be investigated for being part of an 8 year long DOJ and FBI coverup of the Uranium One deal. The DOJ and the FBI hid the corruption from Congress and the hid the corruption CFIUS.

Mueller and Rosenstein can't investigate themselves.

If you want to claim that Sessions hasn’t recused himself from all things Russia..go right ahead.

IMO, he should recuse himself..and likely did

This is a distinct possibility. But he’d better not wait too long. Jebbie is spilling the beans that DJT will be ousted by DECEMBER (of this year)! : )

I saw that in the article too. Funny no one mentions that part. That poster likes to jump into these kinds of threads to spread disinformation. Likes to redirect into a believe that Trump is going down.

It is becoming more apparent to me that Sessions did not recuse himself from the Russian interference investigation due to integrity. Instead, I’m beginning to think that he did it so he would not have to deal with it and would not be attacked by the media. He took his Senate philosophy of “comraderie” with him to DOJ and doesn’t appear to have the backbone to really address the serious corruption in our government and instead focuses on drugs and other “relatively small crime instead”

No amount of good that Sessions does can compensate for what he will not and cannot do.
He recused himself from investigating Hillary or anything Hillary-related. Meanwhile Hillary goes repeatedly onto foreign soil and undermines Trump’s legitimacy as POTUS. That is a national security issue.

Neither Sessions nor Rosenstein will investigate any of the vile Leftist polticians. Trump, by contrast, is being investigated to death. Rosenstein is not limiting Mueller’s investigation in any way, shape or form.

Sessions is a disaster. If Trump can find a politically viable way to retire Jeff, it needs to happen ASAP.

Btw, you can’t investigate Uranium One without looking at the Clinton Foundation..and I am pretty sure Sessions recused from Clinton Foundation

Actually, not true. I do not know that Trump is going down.

I do know and have said Manafort was but that didn’t mean anything would ever touch Trump

Now that more has been revealed..I have laid out in a post where I 100% believe..which includes far from done and more people indicted
