Probably very few people who make $150K take the standard deduction.

Before I retired I made more than that and my itemized deductions were just slightly over the standard deduction. Doubling the standard deduction even while eliminating state and local tax deductions would have made me come out ahead. Our state taxes are not low by any means. Those who live in states like Florida and Texas will definitely do well with this plan.

“This is a subterfuge bill. At least it looks that way to me.”

Me too. The repukes are true to form. They’ve sabotaged everything that Trump has tried to put forward. Duplicitous bastards

However, eliminating and reducing the deductions will increase revenues by 1.5 billion.

The figure I heard was "1.5 Trillion" (1000x's more than your figure).

When the big city libs can no longer deduct their State's already high State income tax, that's where a huge part of the revenue will come from.

And why shouldn't the libs pay for all these federal programs they find so desirable?

This is clever. The libs might be induced to reduce federal income tax rates, or their State income tax, or both. Win, win!

It’s a step in the right direction - rail on about not getting the plan you would like but which would never garner the votes - leaving us unchanged and continuing the decline.....or accept a step in the right direction.

I totally disagree with the 0 tax rate. EVERY American should have skin in the game even if it is 5% or even 2%.

“Fair tax” means lowering taxes on people who are sending jobs abroad, bringing in cheap labor, smearing us on the MSM, people who won’t stand for the national anthem. Establishment Republicans won’t need the rest of us any more because they have what they want and further advantage will come from “working with the Democrats to get things done” and will spend the most money they can in Congress because they don’t have to pay for it. Also helps wealthy globalist urban cosmo libs who look down on the rest of us here. I used to agree with you but, since the Gang of 8, no more. Let them pay. Sorry but, we need a conservatism that works for conservatives and not wealthy globalists and rinos.

“Growth will be off the charts and wages will soar.”

Yeah, just what we need more jobs for Mexico and Asia and more illegal immigration to fill those jobs here. I used to agree with you ,but since the gang of 8 no more. The corporate tax rates may be high but the individual rates are not and that is why so many of the upper class in these elite cities vote Democrat. Given the growth we have in this country I do not think lowering tax rates will will bring about more growth. we need rate cuts for the rest of us if anything.

I like the way it eliminates the subsidization of blue state high state tax rates by eliminating their deduction.

No. Sorry. My husband makes the money but he reached the the M mark by getting up at 3:30 AM and coming home at 5:00PM and working weekends. I think this whole class warfare thing is absurd unless you are talking the uber wealthy.
We busted our balls to get where we are and about 55% goes to taxes.
I do not “choose” to live here, my family is here and they needed me to care for them.
I think the whole tax plan sucks except for cutting Corporate.
I want family farms to be exempt, death plans to go away and I am tired of paying for a bazillion years of FDR’s Leeches.
I already am in a position where we pay an inordinate amount.. that is my State as well.
Sick of getting whacked for stupid shit that was never necessary nor deleted.
It is not Trump’s plan... it’s the Wussified Pubby “leadership” that is terrorized by every Lobbyist they ever met... Ooh..the media may hate me? Eff these people
I want us all to do well but really?... Grossing a comfortable Million.5 per year is wealthy for a small business owner?
Gimme a break.

"I like the way it eliminates the subsidization of blue state high state tax rates by eliminating their deduction."

Great point. Right now, people in the efficient states subsidize the corrupt states.

It is not Trump’s plan..

Yes it is. Trump is promoting it. It is his plan now. He is the boss. He is running things.

It's all part of what Trump has been talking about for a long time -- he wants to simplify the tax code (fewer deductions) and lower business and corporate taxes. None of this should be a surprise to people.

Do you have any clue as to how Legislative Sausage is made?
It is Paul Ryan’s plan and he is a RINO batboy to the Lobbyists that he works for.
Trump is trying to get these jerks off of their butts an DO something.
The Senate will never buy it... McCain, Flake , Collins, Mc Connell, Cornyn, Murkowski, Corker, Cochran are all going to do their duty to their anti Trump overlords and kill anything worthwhile.

They are too vapid to understand this... they just want to go to another cocktail party and be “seen”.

Well I have been following politics since Goldwater so yes I know something about it. I guess you can take up your complaints with Trump. It is his baby now.
