“Nothing proves to me more than this experience that we need to know who’s here with us,” Home Depot Co-Founder Ken Langone said after an ISIS-inspired terrorist used one of the company’s vehicles to go on a murder spree in New York City Tuesday.
Appearing on Fox News Channel, Langone said the suspect, an immigrant from Uzekistan who legitimately rented the vehicle from Home Depot, is proof that the U.S. immigration system is endangering Americans:
“Nothing proves to me more than this experience that we need to know who’s here with us. How the hell can we just say, ‘Come on in and we don’t care how you got in here and we don’t care where you’re from or what you did or what your background was’?”
Langone said he has nothing against immigration – but, the U.S. needs to know who is immigrating to the country, and why they’re coming here:
“I’m not arguing pro or against immigration. My grandparents came here as immigrants. I think virtually everybody’s ancestors came here as immigrants. We’re a country of immigrants - but, they all came legitimately and we all knew where they came from and what they wanted to do.
“This underscores the need for us to be diligent and have a program and have an effort where people have to let us know who they are and that they came in here legitimately.
“Why have borders, otherwise? I don’t understand this.”
Presented with the argument that nothing can be done to stop deadly attacks, especially by “home-grown” terrorists, Langone said U.S. shouldn’t exacerbate the problem by refusing to properly scrutinize immigrants:
“Look. there’s nuts in the world. You know, we have mass murders, remember Kaczynsk, the guy that was the Unabomber – we have enough screwballs in America without importing them.

If you’ve ever worked in open public retail you will become “race sensitive”, never to return to your innocence, within 1 month. It’s not your fault either. It’s the fault of the screwballs. I “lost” 2 daughters, they had their innocence torn from them and they will never be the same again.
OK; but when is Mr. Langone going to do something (such as REPORT and DEPORT) the tens of thousands of WETBACKS that hang around outside his stores.
If they don’t get a day laborer job, they just rob your truck.
just a short list of volunteers that lied...
No he doesn’t have to look at who he rents trucks to. It is the responsibility of the American government to vet who comes into this country. It is not the responsibility of the guy in rentals at home depot to decide who is safe and who is not.
Our government failed Home Depot, it failed the dead and wounded, it failed its citizens.
Put it like that and I agree. He should still look in his parking lot though.
well said
Dont sugar coat it for me, tell me how you really feel! LOL
Or maybe we just need to enforce President Trump's screening of Islamic terrorists coming to our nation, and kick out the others already here. It isn't the weapon, its the person using the weapon that needs to be stopped.
I know Langone, he does not give a damn what anyone thinks. Hes a hard charging little Italian yankee. Great American.
Election season at corporate level Home Depot was very pro-Trump
Sounds like we're getting close to the leftist limit of how much is enough.
Not export. Catapult.
I hope it is!
Question for ya on that. why do I see folks hanging around the home depot parking lot but never Lowe’s? It it Lowe’s policy to chase ‘em off?
The only responsible thing to do is place all Muslims on a no drive list.
I guess it never dawned on Home Depot that’s some Islamic Nut comes in and rents their truck yet buys nothing that required renting said Truck and everything’s good and dandy.
I’ve witnessed the “hang outs” at ALL
hardware stores in Houston. Even at two
or three non big name stores. Competition
is stiff. If there’s even a slight chance
at a few hours work, they’ll line up.
Additionally, Houston has a horrific
problem with panhandling.
My cat is Screwball. Leave him alone.
Why do we need these big box home improvement stores?
