After treating its customers like inferior species of primordial life forms for decades, they expect loyalty?

I cut the cord several years ago. I have a home made window antenna that gives me 34 FREE over the air channels, CLEAR and SHARP. Two are movie channels. I also watch free you tube movies on my computer and I do not go through a cable company for my Internet. It is included in my phone bill with Frontier (used to be Verison) (sp). IT is high speed enough that I have no trouble watching movies. I am very happy with what I have and for not having to pay for it!

Long time Directv customer here. It started at $35 a month for nice channel package, no premium channels, 2 tv’s twenty years ago. Now for 3 tv’s and an even lesser package I am pushing $100. At one point Directv had me approaching $150 a month.

My contract expires in March and unless they change their tune I am gone to Amazon firestick as I now have unlimited internet at my home.

Two months ago I went to my local cable office to drop the two premium channels.

The clerk dropped them and said she would bundle my internet and tv (I have basic and the advanced tier). She said that would reduce my monthly TV-Internet bill by about $50.

I was shocked. I told her that was the first time in the 18 years I have had cable that the cable company ever reduced my bill voluntarily.

She did say that the reduced bill would be for 1 year and I would need to contact them in a year to see what bundles would be available then.

Try to negotiate with your provider. They are all hurting, apparently. They, like mine, might be more susceptible to reducing costs rather than losing customers.
