Unlike the Las Vegas mass murder where authorities have been extremely tight-lipped about details and motives, we are very quickly getting details in about Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, the radical Islamic terrorist who shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he used a truck to mow down random people in the Manhattan area of New York City on Tuesday, killing at least eight and injuring several more.
Sayfullo Saipov, 29, was an Uzbekistan National who came to the United States under the Diversity Visa Program (DV Program), which makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to individuals who are from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
Saipov came to the United States in 2010, just seven years ago under the ill-conceived progressive program.
The scheme was designed by then-Rep. Chuck Schumer - now the Democrat Senator from New York in 1989 that was part of the Immigration Act of 1990, and it became permanent law in 1990.
