Apparently, an active shooter and perhaps a truck attack going on NOW in lower Manhattan....
The redneck in me has been tempted as well. :)
I have to say that, as a bike commuter in Seattle, I fantasized about having a metal bar at the back of my bike with a sharp end sticking out an inch farther than my body for those cars that would intentionally get really close to me, even though I was off to the side and well out of their way. Just a little scratch...
Looks like his wife, the former Nozima Odilova, is an Uzbek. When did we let her in and why?
I pay a tax (license and registration) for every vehicle I own. Cyclists pay no such tax. In this case I am all for pay to play.
It’s an older photo, I think from a couple of years ago. Now he is (reportedly) emerged from emergency abdominal surgery last night, and expected to survive, the POS. Now taxpayers will have to pay for his upkeep for many years to come.
.
We can thank Moslem terrorist apeasing Home Depot for his possession of a heavy duty pickup truck that was capable of pushing a collection of bodies down the road.
.
I suppose driving a truck on a bicycle path might be infuriating.
Haha, just a wee scratch?
I try to avoid Seattle, though I did drive down recently from Abbotsford to go to airport and pick up a new black and ran coonhound that had flown in from Huntsville. I got flipped off so many times driving my big loud diesel down there, was amusing.
Gorgeous dogs.
I’m retired and I still ride my Trek, but never in city traffic. I do ride some around the farm and on lonely gravel roads. It’s suicide to compete with cars while impeding the flow of traffic, not to mention people with cellphones. I’ve know two people hit both of which survived but never fully recovered. I almost hit one myself in the evening. They simply do not provide the out line profile of a car or truck and people just don’t always see them. I’m a proud redneck too and so is most of my extended family. A good many of us are scientists and engineers.
Roadways are mostly funded by petrol taxes. I agree with your assessment of bicycles.
Everybody needs a good dog.
Are you a northerner? Elite northerners think they’re better than poor whites.
When a roadway has a bicycle area set aside, it’s paved, painted and signed with tax money from vehicles(not bikes).
You are right on wear and tear but if a car driver can’t use that portion of roadway why should he pay for what he can’t use?
In my 67 years driving I’ve only come close once to contacting a rider. Sunday night 1959, 10PM on a 2 lane highway in rural Ga. He had no lights and was wearing BLACK clothes and in middle of highway!
Scared the Hell out of us, both!

And no, I don’t think I’m better than poor whites. I definitely bring more value to the IT department where I work than they would, but that doesn’t make me better. We all bring our own strengths and weaknesses to the table. My neighbor that cuts my hay has an 8th grade education, but he’s a smart and perceptive guy. We get along great. I just wouldn’t have him do my taxes.
Yep. I stopped bike commuting because cell phones and texting made it too dangerous.

OK. I can understand that.
Did you bother to read past the first few words I wrote? I was referring to the road hogs who bottle-up a full traffic lane, refuse to move over, and flip you off when you finally get a chance to pass them. And I have no doubt you’re one of them, asshat.
I did. But you’re lumping all cyclists in together over a tragic event in an area designed to keep cyclists and cagers separate.
Yes, I am a cyclist. I obey the traffic laws. I don’t salute cagers with my middle finger. Cyclists have a right to a lane of traffic (at least where I live) and drivers must give them at least 3 feet of clearance. Many do not. Such is life, unfortunately.
Do you hold this kind of angst against other drivers that disobey traffic laws? Hog lanes driving under the speed limit and get mad when you pass them? Run stop signs? Flip you off? There are many more of those types than cyclists that do this crap. Asshat.
