Texans players met late Saturday to discuss how to protest as a team against Houstons owner Bob McNair over his controversial inmates running the prison comment.
The players could decide to all kneel together, and also discussed peeling the Texans decal off of their helmets or raising their fists, according to ESPN.
Whatever their demonstration winds up being, it wont be revealed before the game against the Seahawks.
McNair apologized for his words multiple time this weekend, saying: I am truly sorry to the players for how this has impacted them and the perception that it has created of me, which could not be further from the truth.

For crissakes, its a figure of speech that everyone has heard a million times!! Furthermore, he apologized at least twice. And they are STILL going to protest?? What a bunch of spoiled babies just looking for something to be offended by.
The original phrase was “inmates running the asylum”. It appears that that actually would have been more appropriate to the situation. ;-)
Yup. As Seinfeld pointed out decades ago, the only thing those fans are rooting for is the logo. Not the people—they don’t root for them if they get traded. Not the owner, we hate all of them. Just the logo and the city it represents. Yank that off and they are just the Thugs playing the Other Thugs.

Uhh yes; the inmates are definitely running this cushy well paid paid country club “prison”.
The “players” should go out and get real jobs and do something useful for society. For $9.50/hour.
Fire them all!
Fire them all!
I’m actually hoping to see the day when a bunch of players do something so egregious that their team is forced to forfeit a game. The legal chaos that followed would be awesome to see. If that were to happen you might actually see TV networks and sponsors suing the NFL to get out of their multi-year contracts.
My early prediction that there was no positive way out of this mess is looking more accurate all the time.
This will go over really, really well with Texas fans. [/s]
At this point, I’m not sure who are the bigger idiots: the Player or the groveling Owners.
If they take off the team logo, the fans should not show up at all....
“Aren’t they under the outer shell of the helmet?”
I would be happy to see them play without helmets in this game.
The other team wears their helmets.
How does forcing someone to pretend to honor the flag make the team honorable?
I wish I was an NFL Fan so I could quit watching them.
The owners should just do a lock out. No play for the inmates.
They love their money too much to do that.
Seriously, these players are so full of themselves. Dumb jocks, illustrating their stupidity, low IQ, and lack of abstract reasoning ability. Someone needs to tell them to cool it, or else risk losing it all.
The good news for me is the fact I don’t even know who my team plays today.............I don’t care!
I’ve seen something like this before.
When my kids had a bunch of friends over and one of the kids didn’t like my rules, the whole group could start behaving this way. They were pre-schoolers at the time so a little more understandable.
I called the parents of “the worst one” one day to come get him. After that, I never had to say a thing if he was around - he makes sure everyone follows my rules even a decade later. Other parents don’t want him around but I insist on inviting “my enforcer” as often as possible.
Doesn’t the NFL have a rule about uniform standards? If the Texans pull this stunt will they be fined by the NFL?
I hope the Texans do pull the decals off their helmets. It just shows what a farce the NFL has become. I’m already boycotting the NFL so it doesn’t make a difference to me.
I’ll just read about it here on FR and laugh.
It's great. The more they do, the more fans they lose.
Imagine the season ticket holders and the people who were about to buy shirts and stuff with that logo on it. LOL
