Political operative Roger Stone said Friday that he believes Trump wasn't allowed to release all of the secret John F. Kennedy assassination records because of an effort by "Deep State" policies to cover their "asses."
Stone was reacting to Trump's decision to allow only 2,800 of the remaining 3,100 JFK documents to be released on Thursday, and give agencies six months to review their contents for possible redactions related to national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns.
"I was told that they went to [Trump] and said, 'These 200 documents can never be released, but we just don't have enough time to explain to you why,'" Stone said of the intelligence agencies during a brief interview Friday on Infowars, which has a history of pushing conspiracy theories.
Trump replied, "'good,'" and was the one who gave them six months to put in the work, Stone added.
Both Stone and Infowars host Alex Jones spoke about the "intel" they received on JFK files decision, and painted the intelligence community as part of a secret group trying to exert its authority over the government and democracy, known as the "Deep State." Stone claims to be very close to the White House, and told the Washington Examiner that last week he "laid out the case for transparency" to Trump over the phone on why he should release the JFK files.
"The word I got is they just double crossed him last minute and didn't put it out; the president doesn't want to look embarrassed," Jones said, appearing to refer to Trump's promise last weekend to allow the release of the files "subject to the receipt of further information."
"The guys in Langley are moving quickly to cover their asses," Stone said..

"Clearly, they have it sitting around for blackmail purposes,"
“They thought they they would bluff him [POTUS DJT], and he would never allow release of these,” Stone added.
Trump gave them six months to put in the work, Stone added.
Your link doesn’t work.
“Your link doesnt work.”
Oooops,..
Just as predicted, the usual conspiracy nuts will claim that the “real documents”, the ones that prove a conspiracy, will never be released.
Get Roger Stone’s book from the library. It i very well documented and makes a lot of sense.

The CIA is a creepy outfit.
Break them into a 1000 pieces and scatter them to the wind.
For the first time, I am considerably disappointed in Donald Trump. He is creating a nightmare by withholding about 300 files. It’s been 54 years since the assassination. There is no reason not to release these files. He is falling into the swamp.
He provided another link, see #6.
It has been 54 years. If a guy involved was 21 at the time he would be 75 today. Would he still be involved ?
Trump also knows how to pick his battles, and this is not the week for the focus to shift to trivial infighting within federal agencies. He has the last word on these releases after all, and has not given it yet.
The only page of the release that I viewed, (right here on FR) was a document from the then-head of the CIA, plainly stating the Lee Harvey Oswald was a CIA asset.
I just saw an interview with Sessions and he is putting a fire under the FBIs a$$ to release them soon, saying they were going to work all weekend on it.
If it matters I believe that there is a conspiracy but that it took form AFTER the assassination. I don’t believe there was a conspiracy to kill JFK but I do believe that criminal acts took place in the aftermath of the assassination.
I’d suspect that the documents that are still secret reveal the names of people and politicians who were illegally investigated (phones tapped, homes burglarized without warrant, etc.) and that would prove embarrassing to the FBI or even show the CIA illegally operating inside the USA.
I’ve been looking at some of the documents and the scenario above is what I am starting to see in all of it.
Now, President Trump has a short list of employees to sack.
