As an American Citizen my right and need to know *ANYTHING* our government has done, outside of the actual identities of spies and capabilities of advanced defensive technologies is infinite, and I’d sleep well after putting a round through the cerebellum of anyone who ever said words like “you can’t handle the truth”.

We should require that EVERYTHING be declassified after a set time, and not a long time either.

You don’t actually think they’re the real thing? It’s been over 50 years, the documents say what they decided they’d say. Same would happen if you put an automatic declassification clock on, documents will just get modified. We have never, and will never, have an open government. And attempts to make it open will just make it lie more.

Still, time pressure might make them slip up and accidentally release something truthful.

It should be as hard to classify even one page of information as it is to get a building permit in the most environmentally sensitive area in the country or as hard as it should be to get on welfare/disability- which is to say ‘damn near impossible without an excellent reason’

In the old days... they would have hung him again.. Interesting world we are living in where after 54 years we still don't have all the documents opened up on this case. What are they worried about.. I guess Poppy being alive might be a snag in their plans to release the information in timely fashion My guess is that in six months, there will be another reason why the documents can't see sunlight; and if they are released the documents will be heavily redacted

When I was at Penn State, I saw a “Fair Play For Cuba” table set up in the dorm hallway- This was at the same time Castro was lining people up at the wall in front of firing squads which I saw on Miami TV station B/W link live.
