Mueller facing new Republican pressure to resign in Russia probe
Fox News ^ | 10/27/17 | By Brooke Singman

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is facing a fresh round of calls from conservative critics for his resignation from the Russia collusion probe, amid revelations that have called into question the FBI’s own actions and potentially Mueller’s independence....

Critics question whether Mueller’s own ties to the bureau as well as fired FBI director James Comey now render him compromised as he investigates allegations of Russian meddling and collusion with Trump officials in the 2016 race.

“The federal code could not be clearer – Mueller is compromised by his apparent conflict of interest in being close with James Comey,” Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., who first called for Mueller to step down over the summer, said in a statement to Fox News on Friday. “The appearance of a conflict is enough to put Mueller in violation of the code. … All of the revelations in recent weeks make the case stronger.”

Yes, I know; we've shared many a thread together. :-)

As you are not a fan of Sessions, neither am I; he is a major disappointment!

This is "RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIA", so Session is out of it due to his recusal. So WHO will direct this horror of a SCANDAL? I have no idea, but am extremely wary about it all.

Trump should have gone on a tear, from day one; removing as many old holdovers ( or moving the ones he couldn't fire to outtersloibovia, doing scut work ), but he wasn't smart enough to do so. Another problem being that neither he nor his advisors were linked to any people to put into those positions. BAD MOVES !

We're all doing well and I hope the same is true for you & yours! :-)

My point was, if that was his intention (to destroy the evidence), then he failed miserably. Since I am not making the assumption that he is completely incompetent, I believe that there is something going on here other than the destruction of evidence. I don’t have a clue whether he is “going after the real crooks” - I have no idea in fact what he is doing. I’m merely pointing out that I find it a bit ludicrous to think that his mission is to destroy the evidence against Clinton and Obama because that evidence has and is flooding into the public sphere.

I believe the theory is that Mueller searched Monforts home to try to find (and destroy) any evidence that might be detrimental to Hillary and the Podesta brothers. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.

Anyway, what is the specific evidence that you think Mueller could have destroyed, but didn't? Do you think that the information coming out now about Uranium One that is detrimental to Hillary, is because of Mueller? I doubt it.

What we do know is that when Mueller was FBI director, he sat on the Uranium One investigation for four years, keeping it secret from Congress.

Yes, Mueller is going to indict prominent Democrats of major crimes, and the Great Pumpkin is going to appear next Tuesday at a very sincere pumpkin patch in a county near where I live.

That's what I was thought. Apparently others here are in dispute with that and are alleging it was Trump who hired Mueller.

I think, they think Trump hired Mueller because of what Trump said in a debate with Hillary. He said that he was going to get his AG Session to name a special prosecutor, to put Hillary in jail.

Perhaps they have other evidence but I haven't seen it. If that's it, that's pretty flimsy.

Another thing people seem to be forgetting is that Comey basically set the stage for the hiring of Mueller. When Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee, he stated that he was the source of leaked memos to The Wall St. Journal and The Washington Post. He said he leaked the memos in the hopes that it would trigger the appointment of a special prosecutor...which it did. Surely Comey knew that Mueller was the most likely person to be named by Rosenstein.

Yep, that is possible.

Whatever news is trickling forth entirely supports LS’ “crackpot theory”.

In fact, the evidence is going pedal to the metal. I am surprised you don’t see what’s happening.

You think a highly complex investigation should wind up in a few months?

“Do you think that the information coming out now about Uranium One that is detrimental to Hillary, is because of Mueller? I doubt it.”

I have no idea whether Mueller had any part in releasing the information that we can all see now and has been widely reported. I do not think you are wrong in doubting that.

Mueller may have sat on the evidence back during the Obama/Hillary days...but he certainly didn’t destroy it as we can see today. An FBI informants is going to provide enough soon that the Obama DOJ put a gag order on him. That wasn’t destroyed. I also doubt Manafort would be dumb enough to have evidence of that kind in his home...and also not have such explosive evidence in other locations as well. He’s not a nube at this stuff.

I think one thing that may be important to keep in mind with Mueller is that he might not have had any choice but to sit on the Uranium One evidence during the Obama years. Democrat Administrations operate very like dictatorships, and those who cross those orders can have limited careers and even limited life expectancies. It isn’t like he was dealing with the Bush Administration. Perhaps he even resented having to sit on it. Who knows?

Hey, sometimes the good guys/gals see things different.

LS has a great history on FR of telling us what really was/is happening versus the rhetoric of the MMS!

He is not by himself, here.

The next few weeks will be very interesting.

Here is another train of thought- say what you want: Are the ones on this thread forgetting that Trump FIRED Manafort? Cause it happened once he learned of Manafort’s Russia connex, and his working for/with Tony Podesta on the same Magnitsky Law lobbying team... as well as pro-Russia registered agent for the Russians in the Ukraine military invasion by Spetznaz. That is to say, Manafort was working closely with very dirty dems-— maybe to be a “tick” in the campaign- one more way to make sure there would be a failed campaign— the stalking horse for the Black Hat deep state criminal chameleons working for the clintons and whispering in Trump’s ear whom to choose as campaign manager. 17 Republican primary candidates at the time (minus one or two by Summer 2016). The White Hats knew ALL of this, and bingo— he’s fired in the first salvo of this battle for our country. Manafort is not a Trump person, and never was. Shouldn’t forget this.

Or, forget that Trump hired Mueller?— with zero warning to the dug-in clintonites at “just-us”- people like McCabe (and bypassing Rosenstein whatever his “bent”). The clintoonians have and had a hold on Comey— obviously (and Trump knew this— remember Admiral Roger’s visit week after he won the election? It happened, and Brennan, ClapON/ClapOff, and Comey raised holy hell, demanding he be fired by... obamaumao in December 2016—pissant obambi got scared and was lost with the help of his mommy, Val-Jar. Game, set, match from the eye in the sky, like em or not at the no such agency. FISA.... key in this as well. Treason.

So Trump has the goods on all of them, and hires Mueller as the goat tethered to lure the tiger in, clean out the entire clinton cabal (and hiring members of it to “investigate” to telegraph the pathway and lay it out there— get them to leak- which they clearly have done). Finally knowing this mueller would hire the Enron holy terror of Andrew Weissman (NOT a nice man-enormous ego, and sense of his own huge “intellect”). Mueller has to brief the President, and now, the formerly “recused” Sessions— it doesn’t apply, cause the target has changed. This is hard ball. Look at the lame clown Panetta— if there ever was a greaseball liar, he is it, and he got our people killed as SecDef, and then replaces the one guy who is ostensibly Republican— General Petraeus who is “let go” for skirt chasing dubious security leak potential— far LESS than the crap the clintons have done. See how this works?

Think of the days of J.E. Hoover who had a file on everyone- and supposedly “kept the balance”— maybe. The clintoonians still have files (FBI files to be exact, numbering some 700 so it is said— and they ain’t all dead meat in the Swamp). How else would you assign a job except for the individual doing has to CLEAN HIS OWN actions up. And there are others with quiet unknown “oversight” of this special choice who has to launder his own shorts. Uranium 1— it was always the go to—national serious security issue, and involves US Treasury and cash payment to Iran. Roll em up. Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses.

An interesting chess game where we do not know the players like the main player does. It is a board game, in any case and we don’t know what we don’t know.

"He appointed Mueller because Rosenstein was tasked with quickly quieting the RINO and Dem hounds undercutting the new President Trump. Mueller, as former FBI Director under Dems and Reps, wouldn’t require wrangling with Congress."

Always remember - Mueller let Turd Blossom slide, and made Fizzy settle for Scooter. History always repeats, and hopefully Manafort has the best lawyers money can buy....

“Prediction: Mueller will instead give the grand jury DossierGate. The 91% Democrat DC jury will vote for no charges and Hillary and the DNC will skate home free.”

i think we have a winner here: as Hilliary will never suffer the consequences for all the misdeeds she has perpetrated.

This whole thing is shaping up to be the biggest scandal in my lifetime...and I lived thru Watergate.

Me too. Have you noticed that every time we turn around the democrats have caused another scandal these days and usually around the Clintons.

We must put an end to the Clinton crime family once and for all.

Trump told Hillary during the 2nd debate that he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate her crimes. I don’t think that was hyperbole or just a throw-away line. My bet is that Trump and Sessions had discussed that possibility at length and that they had a candidate already selected.

Everyone acts like the appointing of Mueller as a special prosecutor caught Trump and Sessions by surprise. That Rod Rosenstein made that momentous decision all on his own. I think Trump & company are perfectly happy letting people think that, and even encourage it. But Rosenstein was just carrying out a plan that Trump and Sessions had hatched long before.

Maybe Wee Willie will wake up and show the world HE is in charge and HRC runs into Terminal Arkancide.

He knows she (WE know she has permanent immunity) can’t run cover for him forever and will give him up if it comes to saving her own hide.

WW may also come to the same conclusion with the ‘Magic Negro’ (another with permanent immunity).

As far as ‘they’ are concerned, Bill Clinton is just another ‘old White guy’.
