Author Christina Baker Kline has come forward saying she was groped by former President George H.W. Bush in 2014 during a Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy fundraiser during a photo opportunity.
"'You wanna know my favorite book?' he whispered. I had to lean close to hear him," Kline wrote in an op-ed for Slate.
"President Bush put his arm around me, low on my back. His comic timing was impeccable. 'David Cop-a-feel,' he said, and squeezed my butt, hard, just as the photographer snapped the photo. Instinctively, I swiped his hand away," Kline wrote.
Kline is the third woman to accuse Bush of sexually assaulting her.
Actress Heather Lind initially came forward Tuesday claiming Bush sexually assaulted her and described the interaction four years ago in a now-deleted Instagram post. The incident happened during a photo opportunity to promote a TV show.
Late Wednesday, a second woman, New York actress Jordana Grolnick, also accused Bush of groping her, according to Deadspin.
The latest statement from the office of Bush was released Wednesday and offered a detailed defense of the 93-year-old after Lind claimed that he sexually assaulted her.
The statement said that Bush has been in a wheelchair for five years and explains that he cannot reach people around the waist.
"His arm falls on the lower waist of people with whom he takes pictures," the statement read. "To try to put people at ease, the president routinely tells the same joke and on occasion, he has patted women's rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner. Some have seen it as innocent; others clearly view it as inappropriate."
"To anyone he has offended, President Bush apologizes most sincerely," the statement added.
Hey...first it was Sandusky, then Wiener, then Wienstein, now Daddy Bush. Maybe Billy Jeff's time is next.
Oh please, it’d take all night to list all the liberal darlings who have constantly attacked women.
As for ‘Daddy Bush’ - I absolutely plan on squeezing as many tushes I can get my paws on if I’m 89 and in a wheelchair, much less 93. Don’t like it, take a step away.
“A senile old man in wheel chair is the same thing as Harvey Weinstein, dont you know?”
Crime of the century.
It’s GD open season on every man ever.
You can’t touch a woman on they ass. It is inappropriate. An old man used to be able to get away with such small improprieties, on the grounds he’s too feeble to do anything else. Not any more. At least not if you are an ex president and somebody thinks they can score some points off of it. Nevertheless, George H. W. Bush is not the problem. Harvey Weinerstein and that clown from Nickelodeon are the problem. Any accusation pointing toward old president Bush are just pointing away from these younger men who are currently in the hot seat.
LOL WTF? I never saw that pic before.
I’ll have to remember that joke.
I remember it.
Yeah, and have you noticed that the phase "#MeToo" can be pronounced as
"Pound me too" ?
Lotsa sexually frustrated women out there.
Sluts slandering a cripple. A new low even for them.
Next: Women steal Bush’s wheel-chair because they claimed he used it as a “woman-bait” device.
If they open up a “JKF sexual assault/abuse/whoring” website, they’re gonna need a lot more servers.
And as for LBJ, it would be very tasty and tasteless story.
Re Ted Kennedy, you’d need an atomic reactor just to power a website about his whoring, infidelity, and treason.
Dems - Women, you’ve got to love them - or they’ll rape you”
#17. As the delivery man in “Sex and the City” said to Kim Catrail about her nude poster, “Nice ass” (i.e. the one on the right, and it ain’t Hillary’s).
#43. Re “Candidate for the TSA”. Does that stand for “Touching Someone’s Ass” club?
#69. Re’ he got a splinter”. Well that can happen when you make contact with a “woody”. /sarc
You nailed it. I have two male relatives, who in their 90’s did such things as dementia set in.
Yet in their former adult life, they were polite and mannered.
Most 90 year-olds have some form of dementia. They become like children not knowing what are proper manners anymore. So they just do what comes to mind without thinking about it.
Such is surely the case with George HW Bush.
People need to cut him some slack and just don’t put him in situations where he’s in close proximity to women.
All these things, are leftist things. I sense they are in a group think panic mode. Since we kicked their a$$es.
Yeah, who really knows?
My 89 year-old mother with dementia if she’s alert, likes to interact with the nurses. Today a female nurse tried to get her to shake hands as she went by in the hall, and instead my mom (from her wheelchair) patted her on the butt as she walked away.
It’s likely the nurse will NOT report it to the press.
