Emails written by Obama administration Department of Justice officials confirm reports the agency engaged in a systemic effort to funnel money to liberal advocacy organizations from settlements reached with big banks.
The documents, obtained by the House Judiciary Committee as part of an ongoing investigation, reveal the Obama Justice Department effectively skirted Congress’s budgetary authority by requiring that major financial institutions donate to a group of affordable housing nonprofits and legal advocacy organizations as part of settlement agreements resulting from predatory mortgage lending practices.
The internal DOJ documents represent the latest revelation in a two-year investigation spearheaded by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte.
The investigation has thus far yielded evidence implicating the Obama DOJ in using mandatory donations to funnel roughly $1 billion in settlement money to activist groups, including The National Council of La Raza, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the National Urban League. The list of third party organizations were unrelated to the legal settlements, except through general claims that they would use the funds to aid the low income Americans most severely harmed by predatory lending practices.

That’s how they did it in Chicago so why not in Washington?
This was evil done by the Obama administration.
But even worse are the legislative part of the settlements.
What an administration could not do politically, they could accomplish through the courts with a “settlement”.
The scam works like this:
A bureaucracy is sued by a friendly leftist activist group. Both the bureaucracy and the activist group want the same outcome. The bureaucracy cannot do it itself, because of opposing forces.
So the bureaucracy goes to the “friendly” court, with the activist group, and says, “we can reach a settlement”.
The activist group and the bureaucrats agree to a legally binding settlement for what they both want: more restrictions on third parties. The third parties are never consulted. They are not part of the lawsuit.
The judge approves, and it becomes law for as long as the sky is blue and rivers run downhill.
This is a huge smoking gun or maybe the gun itself.

Many, as in tens of thousands, of homeowners were in the middle of selling their homes when the crisis hit them, and they came later to find the crisis was premeditated. Because the banks were restricted from making loans for a time, the homeowners in the middle of a sale were directly harmed by bank malfeasance. Hence, they suffered and should have received a credit for their losses. As it was, Obama’s DOJ took the money from those that were hurt in the crisis and paid cronies.
I’ve known the above information for years but finally, it gets confirmed by DOJ emails.

Outrageous theft.
When I was in the Navy at our naval base in Sasebo, Japan, a part-time gig of mine was to audit the “non-appropriated funds” of the naval base — including the grocery store, slot machines, and clubs on the base.
Now they put us through a 3 day auditing course, but that in no way trains you to scrutinized the books. I suspect it’s another area where rampant fraud can take place.
This was known/suspected at the time. I suppose now, 7 years later, we just have more proof.

Just a continuation of his Chicago community organization scams.
I knew it.
I’ve long asked - with no answer - where does this money go since it never reaches the supposed ‘victim group’ from banks and brokerage firms.
no wonder liberal advocacy groups got so powerful during the Obama years . I wonder how much money got funneled into LGBT. the group was not the power house it is today 8 years ago. I also think that this means we will see a lot of these organizations start to fall apart as that 1 billion dollars drys up.
