Dossier Revelation To Put FBI On The Hot Seat?

What did the FBI know about the infamous “dossier” on Donald Trump, and when did they know it? Now that it has been established that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC funded the efforts of former British spy Christopher Steele to dig up dirt on Trump, the spotlight should fall next on the FBI’s strange attempts to hire Steele for more, Byron York writes. Congress has tried to get answers from the FBI and Department of Justice about just how they used that information. Did their intercept warrants rely on what turned out to be unsubstantiated oppo research — and did they cooperate in digging it up?

Republican investigators had two big questions about the dossier. One was who paid for it, and that now seems answered. The other was: Did the FBI or other agencies use any information from the dossier as a basis for warrant requests before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court? In other words, did, say, the FBI use the dossier’s “salacious and unverified” information to make the case that the bureau should be granted the authority to conduct intercepts?

Nunes, as well as Grassley and Senate Judiciary Committee colleague Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., have been pushing for months for the FBI to answer that question. So far, they’ve gotten nothing. …

But the importance of the Democrats’ involvement in the dossier is that it could be one step on the road to a bigger story. What did the FBI do with the dossier material? Did judges make surveillance decisions in the Trump-Russia investigation based in whole or in part on the dossier? To what degree is the “salacious and unverified” dossier the source of what we think we know about allegations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign?

After yesterday’s revelation by the Washington Post, some dismissed this as either old news (everyone assumed this was the case) or no big deal (it’s just oppo research). The former ignores the denials that have come from Democrats about involvement in the dossier, while the latter ignores the involvement of foreign intelligence assets in the affair. “Oppo research” is usually assumed to be handled by domestic staffers and contractors, not retired spooks in foreign countries.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It's going to take a lot of suicides by self-inflicted gunshots to the back to cover this mess up...

There were very good reasons for the founders to insist on a natural born citizen. Someone born here of citizen parents with no foreign loyalties, naturally an American because they could not be anything else.
Obama was born a British subject, a Kenyan and was later an Indonesian. He may still be an Indonesian.

He was never eligible to be President.
Children of foreign nationals inherit the nationality of their foreign national parent(s).
They are not natural born citizens even if they are born here and are citizens.

A Kenyan lawmaker told the nation's Parliament last month (March 2010) that Barack Obama was born in Africa and is therefore "not even a native American."

During debate over the draft of a new Kenyan constitution, James Orengo, the country's minister of lands and a member of parliament for the Ugenya constituency, cited America's election of a Kenyan-born president as an example of what can be accomplished when diverse peoples unite:

"If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multiparty state or nation," Orengo posited, "how could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the president of America?"

Orengo held up the U.S. as a country no longer "living in the past," since Americans elected a Kenyan-born president without regard to "ethnic consideration and objectives."

Debate is then recorded in the Kenyan government's official March 25, 2010, hansard – a traditional name for printed transcripts of a parliamentary debate – as continuing with no other MPs mentioning or attempting to correct Orengo's comments about Obama.

It’s hilarious to read all the head spats going on at twitter. Yes the idiot McCain is floated around but in the context of he delivered it to the powers that be. Rather, there is the strong sense that good old Jeb! was the initial starter of this garbage.

Maybe I’ve misunderstood but I thought the whole point of this dossier is what opened up the path for the FISA, so if that’s true, then of course the FBI is in on it, correct?

What I found interesting was the WoPo states quite strongly that the whole Fusion thing was first funded by a GOPr and later dropped because, according to the writer, there was so much information that there was no way they had time to sort through it all and consequently the DNC/Hillary picked it up and ran with it. Now how the heck does that make any sense?

Republican oppo research doesn’t just get “picked up.” It’s not as if it was paid for and then rights to that information thrown to the wind, they owned it, whoever this mysterious “they” (coughJebBushcoughcough) might be. So, it’s pretty clear to me at least that FusionGPS was directed or given permission to turn this oppo research over to the opposition party, Democrats and Hillary Clinton. FusionGPS would not remain in business for long if Republican internal oppo research for primaries was routinely just given to Democrats, or if Democrat internal oppo research for primaries was just given to Republicans. It just does not work that way, and anyone pretending that the Clinton campaign somehow “picked up” the abandoned research and continued it is trying to deceive you. They cooperated, another word for this would be colluded.
