The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee claims he obtained a “smoking gun” email that proves the Obama Justice Department prevented settlement payouts from going to conservative-leaning organizations, even as liberal groups were awarded money and DOJ officials denied “picking and choosing” recipients.
“It is not every day in congressional investigations that we find a smoking gun,” Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said Tuesday. “Here, we have it.”
While Eric Holder was U.S. attorney general, the Justice Department allowed prosecutors to strike agreements compelling big companies to give money to outside groups not connected to their cases to meet settlement burdens. Republican lawmakers long have decried those payments as a “slush fund” that boosted liberal groups, and the Trump DOJ ended the practice earlier this year.
But internal Justice Department emails released Tuesday by Goodlatte indicated that not only were officials involved in determining what organizations would get the money, but also Justice Department officials may have intervened to make sure the settlements didn’t go to conservative groups.

Here we go. On the heals of yesterday’s news there is another scandal to add to the list of scandals during Obama’s tenure. This in spite of his claims that his administration was scandal free . . .

On grounds that were totally and completely fabricated, Obama lawyers would show up on the doorstep of some cash rich Corporation and they would say something like:
“you can fight our silly allegations and end up spending years and a billion dollars or you can cut a check today for 50 million to the Sierra Club and we’ll just go away”
It meant ZERO consultation or debate with any taxpayers and elected officials.
no one at all had to be consulted, it was sort of like the private little war they cooked up in Libya.
they did it again and again and again, a lot like operation choke point in which they strong-armed Banks into ceasing business with Industries they simply didn’t like on a whim.
to turn the tables, it would be like a women showing up at Planned Parenthood and trying to pay for an abortion but discovering she had to pay using hundred dollar bills like a drug dealer.
I wonder if Lerner coughed this up - a name - in order to walk. This is far more actionable than 501C abuse.

I wonder if we could start a petition to rename the District of Columbia the District of Corruption. Do you suppose if there was huge support for such a thing, our elected crooks would get the idea of what we think of this crap - and of the fact that those in DC can get away with whatever they want?

Name names and issue indictments, or it is wasting our time.
It is almost a year since President Trump was elected. By now hundreds of indictments should have been issued against former Obama officials who *blatantly* broke the law.
Those not going to prison should only be doing so because they are testifying at length against those that are.

Maybe that’s why Sessions waited til the last minute to skate her, so not kuch stewing time for us until this bust. Sounds a lot like RICO here, if youask me.
