Cam Newton likes his hats. And, I mean, he really likes his hats. Derby-day boaters, embroidered fedoras, straight-out-of-“Newsies” flat caps: You name it, it’s probably been on the head of the Carolina Panthers’ MVP quarterback during his post-game pressers. Even when Mr. Newton doesn’t put his foot in his mouth with a Bobby Riggs variety sexist remark, as he did during a news conference earlier this month, his hats are enough to make the pressers appointment viewing. I prefer to watch the media meet-ups with the sound off. Trying to make sense of Mr. Newton’s Wonka-esque headwear requires my full attention.
