Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) will not run for reelection, The Arizona Central reported Tuesday
The Republican told The Arizona Republic that he will drop out of the race over the nastiness in the current GOP climate.

Collins too
Corker
When one knows his a$$ is beat he steps down. I thought he was a good Representative but a POS Senator. Good riddance, take McCain, Heller and Graham with you.
Go away, moron...the people are taking back the government...
The actual spelling is Kyrsten Sinema. I like your version better!
Dems will nominate Sinema. Republicans should hold the seat with the right candidate. Ward is not a given; it'll be a crowded primary.
Flake informed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) of his decision earlier Tuesday. I knew that he was thinking about it but very sorry its happened, McCain said. Hes one of the most honorable men Ive ever known.
She’s been polling way ahead of Flake.
Sinema or Ward. Lol!
The greatest win would be to see the Clinton uranium giveaway busted wide open and HAVE THE GUILTY IN JAIL.
If you’ve followed my voter stats, Rs have the advantage in AZ, and it’s expanding every month, now up net almost 12k from November.
So, yes, she can win. Sinema will be a tough challenge, but if the GOP will get the hell out of the way in the primaries, Ward can blast Sinema early (the way McTurd did to her last time) with heavy negative ads defining her as a radical leftist (which she is). Sinema won’t recover if we can do that.
Ward needs all our help.
Ward....Good
Cinema.....Bad
Irish
Cinema =Sinema
Of course she is going to crush her opponent. This is why I have disavowed any relationship to the Republican Party. Squishes everywhere.
What. The. Hell???
I am 110% on board with President Trump, Steve Bannon and *all* MAGA candidates. I am in *no way* casting any doubts on Dr. Kelli Ward nor any other MAGA candidates.
How dare you accuse me of being "Embarrassing.. cowering and hand wringing"?!
How did you EVER come to the conclusion that I am a "Republican Squish". FAR from it.
I was simply posing an innocent question to two Arizona FReepers who know what's happening on the ground with the electorate today in AZ. I was just wondering if liberals and RINOs from the northern U.S. moving to AZ have perhaps been changing the AZ electorate in recent years.
I live in The People's Republik of Connecticut - 2,550 miles from Arizona. I was simply asking what AZ's current electorate looks like. I honestly have no idea.
I am fully on board with Dr. Kelli Ward, and *cannot wait* to see Steve Bannon's MAGA candidates *crush* all Republican squish candidates in 2018 and beyond!
Again, here is my original post to Arizona FReepers LS and azkathy. WHAT is your problem with this??
Do you think Kelli Ward can win? I don't know what the AZ electorate is like these days, but I do know there are a lot of snowbird types from other states moving to AZ full time, just like the southeastern part of the US.
GEEZ...
Thanks, FRiend. That's fabulous news!!
Despite the comments from a particular clueless FReeper on this thread, I am *not* in any way casting any doubts on the fact that Dr. Kelli Ward can win in AZ. I am simply curious as to what the current AZ electorate looks like.
I need to follow your voter stats more closely I guess, lol. Sorry, I've been a bit busy lately, but I'll do my best to keep up. :-)
SO happy to hear Rs are strong in AZ. I was a bit worried your state might be affected by (liberal) refugees from blue states like CA, WA and the northeast U.S. Thanks.
FWIW:
A Message from Kelli
As a doctor, former State Senator, and conservative activist, I share your frustration with the bloated DC government that has become ineffective and, in many cases, outright corrupt. I'm proud to have fought shoulder to shoulder with limited government advocates across the country to battle the progressive Democrats' dangerous big government agenda. And I've fought against GOP Establishment hacks who incorrectly believe the solution to problems created by big government is more government.
I know that I can do more to advance the ideas of freedom and liberty so eloquently described in our founding documents, which is why I've decided to run for the United States Senate against Jeff Flake.
Senator Flake has failed to deliver during his decades in DC - he is simply too weak to fight for Arizona. Over the course of this campaign, we will show the stark difference between our philosophies and our track records. A glaring example of our differences is that while millions of us fought to stop Hillary Clinton and elect President Trump in 2016, Senator Flake supported the Clinton crime family by being a vocal member of NeverTrump and casting his ballot for Evan McMullin.
In 2016, I challenged Senator John McCain because I knew that he would be a problem for President Trump's agenda - and he has been. It was the first time I ran for statewide office and ultimately our campaign came up short which has proven to be embarrassing for Arizona and dangerous for our country and the world. We learned many lessons in that campaign against Senator McCain and this time, we are building a campaign that will win.
I'm not interested in going to Washington, DC, to be "just another Senator." I'm going into the swamp to drain it , to shine a light on the murky darkness that is our political system. I'm going to transform a broken institution by bringing common sense and a 'lead by example' philosophy to the Senate. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of career politicians who lack the courage to fight and who sit on the sidelines while we run trillion dollar deficits - expanding a broken government that doesn't work for us. On day one, I'll relentlessly champion the best policies of my friends in the conservative, Tea Party, and liberty movements.
I cannot win this campaign or transform the Senate alone. I need your help. I feel the anguish of fighting to elect people who become typical political hacks when they get to DC. When you help me get to the Senate, I promise that I won't let you down once I'm there.
That's my concern. Open the floodgates to lessen her chances.
lolz
NM and NV up Rs too. Only CO is impervious
The MSM reports are all referring to Flake as conservative, so it must be true!!! < /sarc >
