Why we're protesting during the US national anthem at American Football games
They did it on foreign soil. Again.
We have a mol(e) at FR?
It’s always fun to hear Rush and a caller discuss a topic that neither of them get right- in this instance the effect on real estate by the Tax Reform Act of 1986.
Dunno why Rush is so averse to interviewing people who actually know a subject instead of engaging in muddled discussions with a caller. Here’s the gist of the issue:
Donald Trump testified before Congress back in 1988 on this very subject. It’s on youtube. You get to see just how good Trump was in discussing a very detailed subject without notes.
Still waiting for him to get to the Mueller story. He said he would get to it after the break at the bottom of the first hour.
Unfortunately, I missed that part of the show - must have been in Whole Foods. Rush is out of humor today because of his tax returns, I guess. I’m sure he’s got tons of cash stashed away in the Caymens and in Swiss bank accounts, don’t you think?
Ha. The only thing that I know about Rush’s taxes is that he has zero experience in filing them.
He has mentioned that his dad’s secretary always filled out his 1040s, and he certainly has had professionals do his taxes ever since he hit the big time.
His lack of practice with the good old 1040, Schedule D, and all the rest is why he never understood the anger that average taxpayers felt when they lost deductions in the various “tax reforms”. He was out of touch with common middle class experience. People felt that they were paying more in tax.
I suspect that today’s bad humor has something to do with his BFF, Apple.
What’s happened with Apple, Pelham?
My dad did my taxes for years. Then we switched to an accountant and ended up in hot water with the IRS! No more deductions for us, we now overpay.
I dunno of anything in particular, just that Apple is often the source of his bad mood. Some update won’t load, they are late with some release or announcement or new product. Stuff like that. It happens often enough that it would be my first guess.
I’ve always done my own taxes. Longhand until the computer programs showed up. I try to err on the side of the evil IRS because I really really really don’t like paying penalties on top of the taxes themselves.
