ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) A small plane crashed on a road and hit multiple cars in St. Petersburg Wednesday afternoon.
St. Pete police and fire departments are on scene at 18th Avenue South and 16th Street South.
Two people were on the plane.
Four people overall were taken to area hospitals and one person was treated at the scene.
According to the FAA website, the plane is a 1978 model Cessna 402b, owned by Noble Charter Service out of Opa Locka airport. ..."
Tabitha Callihan applauds the pilot for putting the plane down where he did.
Where I looked up and could see him going sideways, it was right over where the school was, and if he wouldve gone down over there, he wouldve probably hit children, because kids were getting out of school, she said.
Incredibly, there doesn’t seem to be a scratch on the SUV.
I like to hear the conversation the SUV driver has with his insurance company.
How can you explain to your insurance agent that your car got hit with an airplane...
Hopefully they have State Farm ;-)
What about the owner of this car that was struck by a meteorite in Upstate New York?
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Twenty-five years after a meteorite tore through the trunk of a teenagers Chevy Malibu Classic in this northern Westchester County city, the astonishingly rare event continues to anoint the car with stardust.
The 1980 Chevy will head to Paris over the next few weeks to be part of an exhibition on meteorites at Frances national natural history museum Muséum Nationale dHistoire Naturelle the cars current owner said.
On Oct. 9, 1992, the 26.5-pound space rock captured by 16 cameras in several eastern states as it alighted across that Friday night sky crashed through the back of the car owned at the time by 18-year-old Michelle Knapp, who had parked the Chevy in her driveway at 242 Wells St. She had bought the car for about $400.
Its going to be celebrating its 25th anniversary by being sent on an ocean cruise, said Darryl Pitt, who now owns the car as well as portions of the meteorite.
Pitt, who is founder and curator of the Macovich Collection of Meteorites, said the Peekskill meteorite car will travel by container ship for about two weeks and is expected to be exhibited for about four months in Paris. He said the exhibition is called Météorites: Entre Ciel et Terre (Meteorites, Between Heaven and Earth).
Especially when there doesn't seem to be any damage whatsoever, although I'm sure there must be some.
A few decades ago a light plane had to put down on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, IIRC, it was a summer friday rush hour. The pilot exhibiting amazing control brought it down on top of a big Detroit iron convertible, perfectly balanced to a rolling stop. News crews rushed to the scene interviewing the young driver, who almost in tears, revealed that he had taken his dad's prized car without permission.
"Uh...dad, let's watch the news before we talk about the car...Ok?"
Some of those cars back then were nearly as big as a friggin aircraft carrier!
I doubt that would work out very well today.
Ban planes.
We are never safe on our highways until Democrats ban airplanes.
This could be a Vegas style setup. FBI colludes with a Lone Wolf pilot, to crash his plane on a highway, to create support to ban airplanes, for our safety. The unions love it because pilots must then ride the bus. And all small planes and cars must submit to a groping check.
/s
A Cessna 172, depending on engine type, max take off weight is about 2200 to 2500 lbs....quite a bit less than the car.
Smart Car vertical crumple probably not tested nor rated for light aircraft.
;>)

Yes! and the undeniable fact that the FBI has not yet released the name of the pilot and all passengers, as well as the amount and type of fuel left in the plane’s tanks, is proof of the ISIS connection to the drug smuggling pilot!! /S
At least he was trying to land with the flow of traffic.
“Honey? I crashed the Mini Van AGAIN, but I swear it wasn’t MY fault this time! HONEST!”
It is definitely not a good thing if a DC-10 (MD-11?) touches down right behind you on the freeway.
