On Tuesday, I had the chance to attend a radio row on the White House grounds. I set up in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and I prepared for a flood of surrogates and others to discuss President Donald Trump's tax plan. I hoped that some of the power players would stop by but assumed it would be a slew of mid-level staffers sharing the same stiff talking points about helping the middle class.
What I got was Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, economic adviser Gary Cohn, Vice President Mike Pence and the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
It was my first chance to speak to my former governor as vice president. It was my first chance to speak to Trump as president. And I learned a couple of things ... like the difference between the men in person and the men on TV.
What do I think of President Trump and the vice president?
President Trump is not the guy on TV. He's very soft spoken. I had to turn the mic up to hear him on radio. I asked him a question about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) calling him “violent” and his policies “dangerous.”
You know what he said? “Well, she's a politician.” There was no counter-punch. There was no, “let me tell you about Nancy Pelosi!”
It was politician-like. It was different than everything we see on TV. I mean different, fundamentally. His attitude, his presence, his contemplative nature on the questions; it's not what I was expecting.

President Trump successfully created a cartoon character named Trump. And the media has been attacking Trump relentlessly for about 2 years. Meanwhile, President Trump is untouched and getting things done.

Similarly, every home router has 4 wifi. You connect to and use only one.
The other 3 wifi can be configured to broadcast SSIDs to your neighbers.
I have set mine up to broadcast similar to the following:

You might, especially if you live close to where they’re being stamped. An average bill changes hands about 55 times/year — and most of that circulation is fairly local.

I had the honor of covering President Trump during the 2016 primaries in April in Wisconsin. President Trump is obviously a very busy person. So I expected him to not pay attention to me as we set up the satellite shot, keep on his business and ignore me as I adjusted lights, miked him up, and generally fiddled with the broadcast gear.
What I got was a gentleman who, when he was dealing with you, focused like a laser on you and what you were doing. Is this okay? You need me to move over? What company do you work for? Have you beeen busy this political season? How are you doing with this job? Are you having a good day? Anything else you need from me? When you were done, he thanked you for your time and moved onto the next thing he focused like a laser on. It galvanized my vote for him. I’m a broadcaster, part of a group that hasn’t once treated him fairly. I was expecting him to be cautious and guarded. What I got was a friendly, outgoing person who wanted to know things about YOU. What I got is what we want our presidents to be.
What I got was a President.
