The head of the CIA lumped WikiLeaks with al Qaeda and the Islamic State and said his agency is working toward reducing the enormous threat posed by each of them. CIA Director Mike Pompeo placed the antisecrecy website in the same category as terrorist organizations while speaking Thursday at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies National Security Summit in D.C. I talked about these non-state actors, and its not just Wikileaks. Indeed I may have overemphasized them they are an enormous threat, we are working to take down that threat to the United States as well, to reduce the threat from all of it, Mr. Pompeo said. But Hezbollah, [the Islamic State], al Qaeda, none of them sit at the U.N., these are all non-state actors, each of which has not only cyber capacity, but they look and feel like very good intelligence organizations.

Enormous threat to whom?
To criminals who work for the government. BTW docs on the JFK assassination were supposed to come out this month. Wonder if Pompeo is happy about that.
Is the NYT the New York Pravda of the CIA? Because NYT is 10 times more damaging in leaks than wikileaks
agreed - believe we have a rouge agency here
we should recall the lively debates predicting exactly this outcome when the CIA was created in the late 40s. Most Conservatives were adamantly against the creation of the CIA
[Enormous threat to whom?]
I could be wrong but it seems to me, of late, that Wikileaks is only a threat to Hillary Clinton, The Clinton Foundation, Bill Clinton (thanks Colin Powell), and raising serious questions about DWS and the Seth Rich murder.
Wikileaks is our friend from NSA and other agecies of the executive branch of OUR government spying on United States Citizens without a search warrant with probable cause review by a member of the judicial branch of government required under the 4th Amendment to the constitution of the United States. They are for freedom from tyranny and are heroes in my opinion. They are no more threats than Daniel Elsberg revealing the pentagon papers during the VietNam war which I am sure Mr. Pompeo LOVED!! Mr. Pompeo does not seem worried about CIA leaks of our President’s phone calls either!!!
Hannity, and others, that revere Wiki-Leaks, rightfully so, need to watch their six’s! 1 thru 12’s also!
Hillary must have had help. It may be partly fear of Hillary's goon squad that makes others keep her out of trouble, but also fear of going down with her.
And I don't believe the Clinton gang is the only corrupt group in town.
[ And I don’t believe the Clinton gang is the only corrupt group in town. ]
Oh, I agree with that; joined at the hip it seems. I could mention some politicians that are out there stirring up liberal-type attacks on the current President. No need for me to mention the names after the last couple of days....
The CIA Swamp creature does not like Light shown on it.
Pompeo was making remarks before some Neocon globalist group called the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.
Really....”Defense of Democracies”.....
Would they rename to Stasi 2.0 or Miniluv if so?
I consider the CIA and FBi much more of a threat to our Republic than Julian.
Why is someone a threat because they show your weakness? Is it better you do not know? Is it better to think you are secure while your enemy steals information and uses it against us? Why don’t you hire them to teach you how to button up.
The CIA is America’s analog to ancient Rome’s Pretorian Guard. The Pretorian Guard stated as a protective force, but quickly devolved into a mob interested only in its own preservation. Without any checks against its power, the Pretorian Guard extorted money from the Emperor, assassinating emperors who dared cross it, and ultimately controlled who would be emperor.
The CIA is much the same. Operating without oversight. Assassinating people who get in its way. Drug running. Corruption. Covering up its own criminal behavior (60 years later and the papers on the JFK assassination are still not public. Wonder why.)
