Former President George W. Bush said Thursday that "bigotry seems emboldened" in the modern U.S. He also warned that the U.S. needs to accept "globalization" and reject "white supremacy."
He criticized the governing class without specifically mentioning President Trump.
"Discontent deepened and sharpened partisan conflicts" in recent years, he observed during a speech for the George W. Bush Institute. "Bigotry seems emboldened. Our politics seem more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication."

The paintings are pure amateur. He's pretending to be a quiet old fart. Meanwhile he touts his globalist "anti-white supremacist" BS.
Damn straight, he's got something to hide. He took America down much like Obama. No wonder he and Clinton call each other brothers.
The Bush Crime Family -- from Preston to ?!Jeb!? ¿¡qǝſ¡¿
I can’t disagree with your assessment of GWB. I didn’t vote for him in the first primary. But he was better than the alternatives.
I’ve voted against Dems far more often than I have voted for Republicans. It’s like choosing between boiled spinach and boiled broccoli. Neither tastes very good, but one has got to be better than the other.
I didn’t take offense at his speech....nor do I think he was implicating any harm toward Trump.....Too often some ‘look for’ reasons to jump much to quick and therefore certainly misunderstand what’s really being spoken and not just with Bush’s speech but others as well.
You could easily say the “governing class” he was referencing is Congress...and he’s right... all that followed certainly would point to that and the parties in general.
Recently I have chosen not to engage much with news because it’s all about accusations and defending those that have little to do with the country itself. Rather choosing to watch world news and how it affects or not our country.
I trust Trump to do the job he was elected to do...I also expect he’ll be opposed....He’s a big boy and can obviously handle whatever is thrown at him....and he’ll fight and choose what he’ll fight when and at times of ‘his’ choosing.
FU Bush. It is embarrassing that you were once the President.
A silver foot in his mouth!...Ann Richards
That was his dad.
I wonder when they will “find” the supposed weapons of mass destruction that Saddam didn’t have and which were the excuse for GW Bush’s war in Iraq. Mission accomplished.
‘The Hill” isn’t exactly what I’d consider unbiased by any means. I seldom pay attention to their reporting as it often opposes the Administration.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Gads this self serving born with a silver spoon in his mouth son of a birch is as appalling as ever. This family is a bad dream any more. Go away will ya - this country has had enough of our type of politician. Your one world order is a bad bad idea.
I know...but it applies to W as well.
Virtue signal much, Dubya?
Remember you are playing to the same people who destroyed your presidency. They will never like you. Ever.
I have a negative impression of:
- those who come here illegally
- those who disrespect our flag, especially during the anthem
- those who riot when they don’t get their way
- those who cry over losing the election
- those who whine over having to pay for their own birth control or other recreation
- those who won’t stop demanding my approval of their sex lives
- those who attempt to exert government control over my medical care
- the rest of the oppressive and controlling Left.
If Bush thinks those traits make me a bigot, he probably does not understand why we rejected Jeb either.
“I didnt take offense at his speech....nor do I think he was implicating any harm toward Trump.....”
Don’t be naïve. 100% wrong. Every policy position he took was in opposition to Trumps. And every platitude he threw out there was a DNC talking point accusation against Trump. White supremacy? Who do you think he was referring to? Russia interfering in our democracy? Again, Hillary’s excuse. Anti-globalism? Who is famous for that?
And anywhere in there was there a single kind or respectful word about Trump.
This azzwipe was going straight after Trump.
I am so disappointed by shrub 43. My wife and I gave this pea brained little shit so much money, that I could cry.
Looking back, I was always disappointed in W. But he was better than The Goron and John F-ing Kerry.
Pathetic, isn’t it?
It’s not bigotry when you act like an A-hole and I called you out, that you’re acting like an A-hole.
Twice here.
Saying that, the third season of American Crime Story will focus on the Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I never watched the first season (O.J. Simpson), but might be compelled to watch it when this airs in 2018, just to see how Bush is portrayed in the series, since he was vilified in the press, and never fought back against it. Dennis Quaid is playing G.W. Bush. The series will be based on journalist Sheri Fink's 2013 book: "Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital" as the primary source material. Can't imagine it being fair and balanced, since it's based on interviews, and recollections, many of which were given long after the hurricane occurred.
The second season which will air this year is about the murder of Gianni Versace.
Now get this:
The fourth season will cover the Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clinton sex scandal and the ensuing events during Clinton's presidency, based on Jeffrey Toobin's 2000 book: "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President."
I wonder if they're already working on a future season focused on the demise of Harvey Weinstein. They could actually combine both stories in the same season, using flashbacks of the Clinton/Lewinsky story, while presenting Harvey's assaults/rapes. They'd definitely save themselves some money doing it that way.
- condescending RINOs
>>I cant believe I ever supported this moron.

We all did the best with what we knew at the time.
These elitists have been pulling the wool over our eyes for decades and more, mocking us behind our backs, all the while colluding together to impoverish The Forgotten Man.
I thank God that the veil is being lifted, and every day more people are beginning to put the puzzle pieces together.
