Gerson urges Republicans to join Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) in publicly raising two questions: “Is Trump psychologically and morally equipped to be president? And could his unfitness cause permanent damage to the country?”
If the reports are true that the majority of Senate Republicans agree with Corker’s comment that Trump could cause “World War III,” then Gerson exhorts them to publicly act on their convictions.
Though Gerson does not explicitly state how he would like them to act, the Washington Post offers a clue.
At the very end of Gerson’s column, the Post has embedded a video made by one of their staffers titled “How does the 25th amendment work?”
The video’s caption reads: “The 25th Amendment sets forth a procedure for removing a president from office. Here’s how it’s enacted.”
As the video explains, “Section IV of the amendment states that the Vice President and at least 13 of 24 cabinet members must agree to transfer power out of the hands of a sitting president. They would notify Congress and the vice president would take office as the acting president.”
From Gerson’s column in the Washington Post:
[T]he real problem has always been Trump’s fundamental unfitness for high office. It is not Trump’s indiscipline and lack of leadership, which make carrying a legislative agenda forward nearly impossible. It is not his vulgarity and smallness, which have been the equivalent of spray-painting graffiti on the Washington Monument. It is not his nearly complete ignorance of policy and history, which condemns him to live in the eternal present of his own immediate desires.

This is desperation from the corrupt Republican Establishment.
Gerson is a JERK!
THE most important thing to the establishment is keeping in place their 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders to permanently alter the demographics of this country.
They really do not want the citizens to be able to send the illegal aliens that they invited here home.
There is not one thing that Trump has done to piss me off much less hope he is gone. These people are absolutely out of their minds.
You can’t remove the POTUS because he makes you “sad” and “uncomfortable” as well as putting a dent in your bribery income.
It is time for liberal “Republicans” to panic. We are on to you. We are coming for your jobs.
And then Pence could nominate Jeb for the VP position and then resign the presidency to make Jeb president, thus restoring establishment control over the White House!
“How Remove Him”
1. Run against him in an election scheduled by the Constitution.
2. Win the majority of the Electoral College.
I despise the nevertrumpers. They were fine with Obama destroying America’s economy and its military, but give us someone who puts the nation ahead of the world, and they lose it. Imagine what they would have said of Teddy Roosevelt? They are the ones who would not let Reagan be Reagan, until he broke free of their constraints. McMaster and Kelley are Trump’s constraints. Still the nevertrumpers howl.
Dont these jerks realize what would happen to them if they ever tried such a thing g in this country?
It makes me sick to the stomach just how much I donated to these kind of “republicans” through the years. Well no more sucker here. I will only donate to specific candidates that will help drain the swamp.
If anyone is lurking from Team Trump, you need to fix the cabinet room lighting so his nose doesn’t cast that shadow over his top lip.
For some reason I would enjoy seeing the Republicans teaming up with the Democrats to TRY to remove a POTUS with unflinching, dedicated support of 65 million voting Americans.
And probably another 40 million that didn’t vote.
May as well get this silly sh!t over with.
Message received and understood.
When we march on Washington, Republicans will be
first to the lampposts.

Where in the minds of Gerson and his ilk, "permanent damage" = ridding congress of establishment Republicans.
