Bowe Bergdahl, the US soldier held as a Taliban captive in Afghanistan for five years, has pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehaviour before the enemy. The 31-year-old Army sergeant entered his plea on Monday before a military judge at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Idaho native's lawyers have argued he cannot get a fair trial following criticism from Donald Trump during last year's presidential campaign. Mr Trump had called him "a no-good traitor who should have been executed."

This breaks my heart. May their loved ones whom they left behind be blessed by the Lord in every way possible. May they know that their men were selfless heroes. The blue falcon was interviewed recently and he was whining about not getting a fair trial, and how everyone is calling for his death. My thought upon hearing him whine was that if this was during WW2, he’d be rotting away in an unmarked grave by now.
Pvt eddie slovic deserted on October 9th 1944, tried and convicted on Nov 11 1944, and became room temp on Jan 31 1945.
The difference is that slovic never got troops killed while looking for him.
