He’s echoing Lenin, who considered free speech a “bourgeois value,” and hence illegitimate.

Though the illiterate excuses for students and profs appear to be utterly ignorant of such historical facts.

Evidently the only degrees they are offering are BA's, Master's & PhD's in SUICIDAL STUPIDITY.

The blame for this stupidity calls equally on the right for actively defending what the universities were doing up until it got to this point.

Seamless incoherence. I'm guessing this isn't an engineering major.

Somewhere in Hell there is a study with a desk at which Trotsky sits, and each day a stack of these little screeds is delivered to him by a grinning demon. "This is your legacy," the demon giggles, "have them graded by tomorrow." He weeps bitter tears.

My daughter’s English degree is going to include a certification to teach English as a second language. She can go to work overseas, which is her goal, as soon as she graduates.

Of course, a good plan like that has to be second-guessed by a teenager, though. She is now wavering, and looking at speech pathology, which I think is only available at the Masters Degree level. Who knows how this will play out...

Ok. I’ll take you up on the Middlemarch suggestion. Thanks.

Kind of reminds me, somehow, of one of the school shooters . . . Columbine?

This goes hand in hand with the “student” at UC-Riverside who stole the Trump supporter’s hat telling him that “free speech was hate speech” and Hillary’s “Deplorables” comment. It’s an effort by the Left to dehumanize us, not much different than the Nazis used in the build up to the Holocaust. If the “enemy” is less than you, then you can do what you like.

Thank you Communist Party and the National Education Association. But, I repeat myself.

You do repeat yourself.

“Princeton’s apparently joined the long list of $50K/yr babysitters.
Proving yet again that knowledge and wisdom are two entirely different critters”

It must be a farce...Michelle Obama got through it.

Princeton once had one of the best math departments anywhere. Do they now buy into this nonsense as well?

I saw an article yesterday - maybe here - that a university in Texas was recruiting math professors who specifically had a social activist track record.

Mr. Ryan Born would seem to have a promising future as a propagandist for the resistance. His is clearly a creative individual not bound by any normal constraints of logic.

Mr. Born Idiotic needs to go and figure out that if ‘Free speech’s doesn’t exist for Conservatives, free speech won’t exist for Liberals either.

Either this is a spoof or the man's an idiot. Apparently he could have no objection to Conservatives/ Libertarians shouting down Liberals/ Statists/ Communists, whenever or wherever they espouse their views. One would hope he has at least a few friends who would take him to some quiet place and try to persuade him not to make such a public fool of himself.

Rumors of the collapse of academic rigor in the nation's so called elite colleges appear to be confirmed.

Yes it does. Conservatives have allowed a whole lot of this crap without making any real opposition.

It is in practice at all major universities.

That is just all the little sflakes doing it to each other.

May as well be toddlers throwing poop balls at each other.

I was actually (although not clearly) referring to "putting that into practice" against me.

It will "surprise" the Ryan Born's of the world that proclaiming it is a right of mine "that does not exist" was actually THAT bad of an idea.

Sorry about the mix-up.

Maybe Princeton and Harvard shouldn’t be considered great schools anymore. The university system as it exists will cease to exist. Education is increasingly taught remotely via computer

Think of it as "social change" in action.

We are probably just a generation away from homeless leftist professors standing on street corners in major cities screaming about "white privilege" to the passing traffic.
