The grownups have finally won and everyone in the UK, from those in cold homes to those on polluted streets and in flooded towns, will benefit. The most important aspect of the UK government’s new clean growth strategy is its unequivocal statement that tackling climate change and a prosperous economy are one and the same thing.
There is no long-term, high-carbon economic strategy because the impacts of unchecked climate change destroy economies, as Lord Nicholas Stern puts it.
But the Conservative party has long been swinging between the green dream and fossil-fuelled fantasies. Recent years have seen one green policy shredded after another, destroying confidence among the businesses we need to deliver a low-carbon economy.
The new strategy published on Thursday signals a new, if belated, beginning. It is the beginning of the end of the fossil fuel age: it is highly notable that the government plan omits any mention of fracking, having previously been its cheerleader.
However, while many of the details are missing, the clean growth strategy marks an important and vital step forward for the UK. As the prime minister Theresa May says in the plan’s foreword: “Clean growth is not an option, but a duty we owe to the next generation. Success in this mission will improve our quality of life and increase our economic prosperity.” The strategy is now crystal clear – it is time to deliver.

Bush said that the US would reduce CO2 emissions relative to GDP. The US would reduce CO2 emissions from 183 tons per million GDP to 151 tons.
His cult leaders told him that 3 years into what they believed was Global Warming (because it had been hotter for a few summers) that it would be that way FOREVER. The wind would continue to blow east at a steady 12 mph and the sun would never heat or cool, and that the myriad of 15000 other factors that they don’t have the computing power to predict would remain constant and the cause of the heat increase (which wasn’t happening) would be because man was doing it, because if man is doing it, we can tax the hell out of them to the point where everyone is equal and then they can implement a world-wide government that they can control and keep everyone at a peaceful level of cow-like submission.
The thing they can’t explain is how they can’t predict a 10 day track of hurricanes, or even a 3 day track, but they believe they can handle the myriad of variables that they account for and the myriad of variables they don’t (and the ones they willfully ignore like the big fusion ball of flame our planet happens to circle) for 10 years, 20 year and 100 years.
Why is it, if they are so good at their jobs, that there was an 18 year pause? Why is it, if they’re so good at their jobs, that NASA had to fake historical data to match the model instead of changing the model to fit reality? He can’t and won’t answer any of those basic questions about his cult. He won’t explain how the Artic and Antarctic ice has been increasing. He won’t explain how California had 8 inches of snow in AUGUST in the mountains. He won’t explain how last year, 3 FEET of snow fell in the Sahara Desert. He won’t and can’t explain how Manhattan and Miami are not under water now, and the Outer Banks in North Carolina still exist, despite his head cultist’s bible claiming inconveniently that they would be by 2015. None of his claims and none of the claims of the cultists actually work. But, he insists. He’s been shown to be an idiot, but yet, he keeps calling us morons (excuse me... Mow-ron, as if we were the cows his cult leaders are trying to lead to the slaughter) and keeps trying to splash up things to try to convince us that his cult’s religion is real. He’s a true cultist. But he needs to go away.

For example, it was just announced that 2 more coal plants in Texas would close. I suggest you get down to Texas asap and tell them you are a expert and convince them keep operating.
