So our blood, their gain? What a crock. I said a couple of times on another forum that we should have taken control of the oil in Iraq instead of handing it out to those asshole countries who didnt help us during the invasion.
Trumps going to nuke the Norks like Truman nuked the Japs.
Crush him Mr. President...Crush him!
Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war from Article II, Section 2, which names the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
Thats certainly not to say there is any block to self defense. Trump must do that but it puts the first move in North Koreas court.
Nah. He has other options such as killing Little Kimmy.
Since we never had an official end to the Korean War—ONLY a truce was signed—then I am not sure that Trump needs any approval from Congress to go there & bomb the crap out of them.

I would say that the current actions by N Korea & it’s ‘leaders’ is a breach of that TRUCE.
Not too sure that all applies this time.
Korean War ended in a TRUCE. Not a formal capitulation by the enemy, such as Japan & Germany in WW II.
Seems like N Korea has more than violated that truce over & over again.
All Trump has to say—N Korea broke the truce, therefore, we are going to put an end to Fat Boy.
I do not see our blood being spilled. Bombs, certainly.
>>>Well, Trump is Commander-in-Chief after all.
Yes, but the Constitution still requires that Congress be the branch of the government to declare war.
>>>Korean War ended in a TRUCE.
The Korean conflict was a police action under the auspices of the United Nations. If we are going to preemptively attack North Korea, potentially putting 10s of thousands of US soldiers lives at stake, it would be nice if Congress would weigh in first as required by the US Constitution.
The $1 for the entire company press losers?
Yep, these “fine institutions” of journalism pass hands for $1....and we’re supposed to listen to what they have to say?
$1 worth of “fake news”
Wouldnt the UN still be involved then. Also, Truman got the Congress to appropriate funds but there was no declaration.
How did the poor man manage with only six cabinet members?
Actually, the combatant is the UN.
UN directive might be the legal requirement unless the action is unilateral
