“A bump stock absolutely ruins an accuracy the gun has.”

Why was accuracy needed when “the plan” was to use his gun(s) as bullet hoses, and to do so indiscriminately on any of the approximately 22,000 people who were standing on a target with an area of several acres?

That is not a winning argument.

Now, if the BFS caused the gun to jam, then you might have something. Of course, that’d require that the Company argue that its own products are defective...which is also not a winning argument.

The ONLY argument here is that Slide Fire Solutions is NOT responsible for the criminal use of its products, any more than an auto company is responsible for the deaths, injuries and damage caused by a drunk driver who used one of the cars that it manufactured to commit the crime.

This will be interesting to see how long it takes to get thrown out. The PLCAA (e.g. 15 USC 7903) bars suits against manufacturers of firearms components for the products unless there is a defect or other direct culpability. Criminal misuse without more is thus barred. With Obama’s ATF having approved the device, I don’t see how the suit goes forward. This suit would seem to be lawfare more than a valid complaint.

“Have the details of the weapons used been released yet? Were the bump-stocks actually used, sear/trigger mechanisms altered, or were some just auto-fire weapons..”

Yeah, I noticed that this information has not yet been released...though the usual suspects in Congress and the media are ready to ban BF stocks.

FYI, I saw a YouTube video where a guy very effectively used his BARE HANDS to bump fire an AR-15. Let’s see them ban hands.

Yes but the plaintiff lawyer can collect a fee for filing the suit and the defense lawyer can collect a fee for defending.......win/win

“Why was accuracy needed...”

It wasn’t. Poor strategy to claim it saved lives in this instance.

Ruh Roh! You used a schumer/fine-steen terminology. To wit, “bullet hose”. ;-)

"FYI, I was a member of the NRA for 19 years - but left when they backed super-citizen status for retired police officers (who are otherwise known as “civilians”) regarding nationwide right to carry legislation, and threw the rest of us under the bus."

I'm a life NRA member and I can tell you that they employ the same strategy the left employs, namely incrementalism. They get that passed and then move on to the next one. They are the major supporters of a national reciprocity agreement bill in the Congress.

So, if a crazy person runs down pedestrians with a Ford Mustang, should they be able to successfully sue Ford?

Yes, things like that have actually been done under the perverse legal theory of "deep pockets".

One attorney’s opinion of Slide-Fire’s protection under PLCAA:

Hillary wanted Gun Manufacturers to be sued for producing a Legal Product that was used for an Illegal purpose, AKA Murder...

She also wanted a 55 MPH Nationwide Speed Limit, so I guess any Automobile Manufacturer that produced a Car that exceeded 55 MPH would be in big trouble too.

IRRELEVANT. The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) is still in place, much to the Democrats’ chagrin. Bump stock did not malfunction, so no liability whatsoever.

Did you see those chairs the shooter used to make his “sniper nest”?

Better sue that furniture manufacturer too!

Perhaps that’s what they’ve done lately (i.e. the last 20-30 years), but it doesn’t account for completely giving up the ghost in 1934 and 1968, and it certainly doesn’t account for ONCE AGAIN letting the other side get away with banning/regulating an inanimate object - and then using that ban/regulation scheme as a wedge to get other things banned.

Face it, they really screwed the pooch with this one. Feinstein ADMITS that no law or laws would have stopped this nut in Vegas, yet she STILL wants to ban bump-fire stocks (which I don’t own and don’t particularly want) and WILL be back for magazines and semi-autos. Count on it - and then thank the idiots at the NRA. I’ve had it with them.

Just preemptively imitating the lawyer for the other side. :>)

Anyway, that’s pretty much what a genuine full auto is.

That, or the traditional definition: “The most efficient device known to Mankind to transform perfectly good money into noise and smoke.”

Is it even known for sure that any bump stock was used by the shooter? I know there were some found in his room, but I heard they can’t prove he used any.

🤔🔬. Will we ever learn which weapons were used of the bunch he had or how many rounds were fired? Not holding my breath.

Does anybody even know for sure if bump stocks were actually used in the shootings? I haven't seen any public information confirming it - or proof that genuine automatic weapons weren't used.

But then, I haven't seen much public information on anything to do with the shootings including thousands of feet of camera film from the hotel which surely exists, pictures of what the "200 rounds" did to the hallway the killer sprayed before he went on his shooting spree, the actual crime scene rooms and almost everything else about the crime scene except a busted door and a few odd rifles scattered around and some dead guy's feet, the changing stories of the "hero" security guard and time lines? ... etc. ... etc. ...

It's a black hole.

On what legal grounds do they plan to sue? Rumors? Innuendo? The word of Chuck Schumer? Shot pattern recordings which vary according to source? The fact some of the rifles had them installed and were they even the ones fired for the murders outside?

Details, details, ...
