I was suprized to see the American Heart Association was a big supporter of this tax. They carried signs into the appeal hearing yesterday.

It means the only way you’re getting my 64 ounce soda is out of my cold dead hands.

I will go to hell the way I want.

Not that I think drinking soda will end me to hell :)

It’s just a way of saying don’t tell me how to live my life govt.

This is great news as it shows the liberal solution to everything. If the conservative doesn’t believe in large drinks, they don’t buy them. The liberal wants to outlaw them. If the conservative doesn’t like a TV program, they change the channel. The liberal wants to ban the program. If a poor person wants more of the economic pie, the conservative grows the size of the pie—a rising tide lifts all boats. The liberal wants to take the pie from those who earned it and give it to those who haven’t.

And to those Hollywood BS types who say taxes aren’t high enough, until I see you take out your checkbook and write a multi-million dollar check to the IRS, sit down and STFU. The rest of us who pay for your Liberal largess are struggling out here. Free cell phones for deadbeats. Really? That’s the best you got in Washington?

They next need a state or national tax so it is not so easily evaded and strict enforcement of soda tax stamps like cigarette taxes. < too close to what the authoritarians want to be sarcasm >

This is the same way people solve tax inequalities. Dems never think of things like that. They think a tax will make people stay away from the beverage. NO, people stay away from stores in the county.

DemoRat pols knew full well the outcome of this soda tax based on history of it tried elsewhere but facts be damned when it comes to them. They push the envelope beyond wisdom and reason because they can and results be damned until it bites them in the butt. They never learn— morons.
