They are all beautiful but I’ve always loved calicos even though I’ve never had one.
History up here DOES go much further back.
Maine is a very cool and mysterious place!
We went to Canada in Sept, and even then way up in the mountains it was pretty damned cold!
One day we were in old Quebec City and got caught in a fast moving rain storm!
BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
We were drenched within minutes!
My ancestors were Canadian, and every french swear word I knew came to the fore when we got soaked!
I would love that! I always thought we’d make it up there last time, but it was like “so much to see and so little time”!
Well, some in our party did not wish to go so..we didn’t.
But we can try again next time!
Pixie did produce some pretty little girlies, and sweet ones. The bonus is they’re pretty well-behaved unlike the evil spawn Sheba left us with several years ago. LOL
I’ve always had a thing for tabbies for some reason. To most people, they’re just plain ol’ striped cats but when you look at the markings closely, they can be interesting.
But ALL kittehs are special no matter what colors they are. :-)
My ancestors on Dad’s mother’s side came from New England. That’s partly why I’ve always wanted to go up there. The history of the area is another. But I’ve just never had the opportunity. :-(
That trip to old Quebec City doesn’t sound like it was very fun. Easy to imagine all the swear words that popped out when that storm hit. LOL
You betcha we can!
Tabbies are all so different! Is Lorien your dark tabby? I think Ghost is sort of a Siamese/Tabby. His coloring is so different! I don’t think he’ll ever let me pet him though. Came close the other day. I put my hand out when fixin’ta feed him, and he almost touched my fingers with his nose, but he hasn’t repeated it.
Aside from getting soaked, it was a fantastic time, and I did a lot of searching in their archives for my family history.
It is a beautiful, fantastic city!
Okay Ladies!
It’s very late here so I am off to me bedchamber!
Love to all and thanks for the fun!
Nitey nite!
I don't know what to call Ghost's coloring/markings. Our Piper is colored and marked like is and has the blues eyes as well. I'd never seen a cat like that before.
However the two got their coloring, it's really pretty and unique. We both got lucky. :-)
Patience is the key. It took me two years to tame a couple of ferals who showed up here years ago but it finally happened. And when it did, they were the sweetest fellers. You'll gain Ghost's trust eventually.
Glad it was a fun trip despite getting soaked. I hope you found some interesting info in your family history.
Good night and sleep well, MS.B.
It was cool to see ya for a bit tonight.
I had one like that except he was a bob tail.
Got hit by a car when my dunb-ass ex-SIL let him out.
He had the blue eyes, too.
He had blue point Siamese in him the vet said!
I have no idea what Piper’s parents were like. She was one who was dumped off here when she was about 5 or 6 mos. old.
A friend had a cat who slipped out of the house one day while she was in heat and came back a couple of days later, all happy and calm. Two months later she unloaded a litter. Two of the kittens looked like Piper and to my friend’s knowledge, there were no Siamese cats in her area.
I dunno. Just know they’re pretty!
Bummer about your handsome fella. That just sux!
Nighty-night, Sis! (((hugs)))
It was fun getting to visit with you tonight! In spite of the wonky quiz. LOL!
Yes, Ghost has broader stripes than Piper, for sure. He is really unique and is a gorgeous cat.
I hope you can calm him down enough to be petted soon. Some just take longer than others.
A twofer?
