Security guard shot before concert shooting began
On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced a change to the sequence of events that occurred on Oct. 1, saying a security guard who encountered Paddock was actually shot at 9:59 p.m. local time, minutes before the 64-year-old unleashed a hail of gunfire on unsuspecting concertgoers.
Previously, authorities had said that the security guard, Jesus Campos, was shot after Paddock had opened fire on the crowd below.
Lombardo said Campos immediately reported to hotel security that he had been shot. However, responding officers did not know Campos had been shot until they arrived on the 32nd floor and encountered him, Lombardo said.
It's unclear what ultimately led Paddock to stop shooting at the people below. Officials had originally thought that Campos distracted him.

His profession of late (2015) was professional gambler, but there is no such thing as a professional gambler at a casino: it is not permitted.
Professional money launderer, maybe?
People? This was one guy.
I can spell breaking.
imaginations gone wild
Check out his spelling of “facade” too...
phasade?
Oops...!!!
IT’s all safety glass. Probably 3/4 inch.
You can shoot through it, but it just leaves holes. It does not shatter.
How the hell did he break out the windows from floor to ceiling and not fall out himself?
I want that answer, in addition to why the FBI is involved (much less in charge) when, according to everybody there was no Federal crime committed.
And what the hell happened from the time Campos was shot in a hail of 200 bullets at 2159 and the shooting on the crowd at 2205.
6 minutes, and he didn’t call in? Or, Mandalay Bay didn’t call LVMPD to scream 200 rounds from auto fire on the 32nd floor?
At 2212 LVMPD was still talking on the police band that they didn’t know where the shots were coming from. At 2215 an officer states: “Two shooters confirmed. One on the 29th floor and one on the 32nd floor”.
So was the guard a shooter? Wounded to appear as hough he was a good guy when he was a suspect?
Yeah. Faker.
Bingo. There is no reason for the constantly changing background story on this guy if they were just telling the truth. This whole thing stinks.
He rented the 1705-sq-ft suite 32-135 on the 25th, then added on the adjoining standard room 32-134 on the 28th.
32-134 was one of the rooms with a broken window. The other broken window was in the big suite. Brian Hodge could not have been staying in 32-134.
The guy in 31-134 just below one of the broken windows, Floyd Conrade, in town for an IT conference, was just about to turn in when the shooting started. He thought it was fireworks at the concert until the third volley, which was much louder and was accompanied by sounds of debris hitting his window.
He said it was loud when they breached 32-135. When they breached 32-134, it was really loud. He was sitting on the side of his bed and landed on the floor.
the 4S has a separate express elevator. Not sure if they share fire stairs. But I don’t think 4S could be accessed just by going up. But, one floor down or up on the elevator or the stairs and boom - a ‘fleeing victim’. Weren’t there early reports of shots fired 29th floor and 32nd floor? Cops cleared 29th then were on 31st, or straight to 31st? Were there reports of shots fired on the 31st, too?
You are all looking in the wrong place it was the YouTube video that caused it!
Hours later, a man on the floor above in the conjoined rooms of 32-134 (a standard room) and 32-135 (a 1,705-square-foot suite) opened fire on a crowd
Yes we know he fired from both rooms which have a connecting door between them.
I don't see where the article you cite says Paddock rented 32-135 on the 25th and 32-134 on the 28th.
It merely says he fired on the crowd from both connected hotel rooms.
It doesn't speak to whether Paddock rented 32-134 or Brian Hodge rented 32-134. Hodge was out to dinner during this time and when he came back to the hotel the shooting was going on. Had Paddock broken into Hodge's room through the connecting door while Hodge was at dinner and used a broken window in each of the two hotel rooms to fire from?
It was Sunday night, not too late. Maybe many rooms were vacant. Maybe people were downstairs being busy gambling. There was a concert which may have muffled the sound of breaking falling glass. It was night, so I doubt that anyone looking out their windows would have seen falling glass.
I remember seeing a floor plan of the 4S a few days ago online and it had stairwells in the same place as the Mandalay Bay. I can’t believe they don’t connect, otherwise how would 4S guests get down all the way to the ground level to exit?
Maybe they open freely only out into the stairway for security reasons, so an accomplice up in the 4S would have had to stand by and open the fire door upstairs in order to let Paddock come him.
Safe bet considering the inaccuracy of his previous statements. He tried hard to hide the answer to Laura Loomer's question on check in date. She's eating the prostitute media's lunch.
quietly lurking out here seeing that more and more folks are slowing coming around to my suspicions:
I still see no evidence yet that the accused was the actual shooter. Instead, possibly the first casualty. the story change of the security guard is key.
If I’m an officer on this case, I,d make sure his passport’s pulled.
I think you’re right - they probably don’t open freely in-to the 4S, but could be exited out-of by 4S peeps.
and remember when you hear stories of ‘well, there are no cameras in certain guest areas of that hotel...’
We’re not talking a north end casino built in the 50’s or 60’s. We’re talking a billion dollar enterprise that was the state of the art when built.
I’ve been there. I’ve been in one of the rooms. There are cameras everywhere. Card key or ID required to even get on the elevators.
Again, people: if/when they say no cameras were there, they are LYING.
