In a significant timeline change, Sheriff Lombardo reveals Mandalay Bay security guard, Jesus Campos, was shot BEFORE the Las Vegas attack started.
Las Vegas sheriff says Mandalay Bay security guard was shot 6 minutes before first shots were fired at crowd., reports ABC News.

Paddock shot the unarmed Campos in the leg as he was moving toward the room outside in the hallway, The Daily Beast reported being told by Dave Hickey, president of the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America.
Campos had taken an elevator to the 32nd floor of the hotel because the stairway door had been blocked, The Daily Beast said, and when Campos got to the door where he suspected Paddock was barricaded, he was met with gunfire through the door.
The wounded Campos then radioed casino dispatch informing them of his and Paddocks location in the hotel. Police said the suspect fired some 200 rounds at them as they approached the room, The Daily Beast noted.

unless the guard thought he was going to be let in, to "help" but I doubt that...
SEIU criminal?...no question...
but this instance, don't think so....I'm sure some SEIU members were probably killed in the attack...
what I am wondering is why Campos was going to the arse wipes room in the first place...was it because the windows were broken and that was noted early on, and that is why the guard was sent up there?
Security guards represented by SEIU
Everything I've read to this point says the SPFPA is the Union involved.
What am I missing?
Somebody on another thread a few days ago mentioned that the broken window may have set off an alarm if the hotel had that type of system installed. I've tried doing a search to find out, but came up empty.
Too bad I'm 'puter illiterate.
Maybe someone staying in the hotel tried to use the stairway, and reported it was blocked.
This would have been known early on—the sequence of the events from the hotel side is well documented by their systems.
The stairwell door was blocked..(?)
I just read today that he would bring his own drinks to the casino because he didn't like tipping for them.
I doubt very many people use the stairway.
Too bad I'm 'puter illiterate.
:) Me too..! I could rule the WORLD..!! If I could figurer something out... :)
I think sometimes God keeps certain knowledge from the most special amongst us in the spirit of fairness.

Not for 32 flights they won't, but from one floor to the other, they probably would, especially if the staircase was closer than the elevator.
They have been pretty consistent on this point since the beginning - he was responding to an “open door alarm” - as he did, Campos heard the sound of drilling. I think Lombardo indicated he “didn’t finish” whatever he was drilling.
There was a “door ajar” alarm...It was down the hall from the killers nest.
security guard is a dufus or a player.
Ok, what we heard again today was that the security guard responded to a ‘open door’ alarm (the smoke alarm within-one -minute story has disappeared into the ozone) - the ‘open door’ was a) the suite or b) ‘a few doors down’ or c) both
We heard from sources that Paddock had ‘personal protective equipment’ in the room (escape theory basis?)
We also heard that the shooter had ‘screwed the door of the stairway’ as a means to ‘barracade’ it. (which one would need a drill or power driver or whatever)
We heard that the security guard heard ‘drilling’ coming from the suite (as far away as the elevator) “but it was not completed” whatever that means.
Then we hear that the guard was down at the end of the hall for the entire time and he was not the reason the firing stopped. Which begs the question, why did the firing stop, then?
So, while I’m scratching my head, I’m wondering if the drilling was the shooter securing or unsecuring the stairs, which were 3 feet from the suite, inside a little alcove... (with a 3ft serving cart convenient - that was allegedly further down the hall earlier)...I’m also wondering just when Mr. Guard called for backup, or why he didn’t exit, stage elevator, to get help at the first shots towards him? How many bursts were fired at him? Why’d he sit there for 200 rounds worth? What did he do when the gunfire turned away from him? Did he go into a guest room and use the phone to call for help?
And then there’s the guy who claimed to be in room 134 - the event and concert planner dude from LA that was the toast of the Melbourne interview circuit.
This case has more turns than Lombard Street.
More news when we make it up.
SEIU is most historically an enforcement arm for the Communist Party, which has frequently worked with criminal enterprises towards mutual interests, such as labor racketeering.
